The instructions for enjoyment that accompany the #Davidoff #ChefsEdition 2021feature an abundance of culinary metaphors and gastronomic puns out of which we derive almost as much as pleasure as the excellent #churchillcigar itself.
For this episode #FoulkesandSons embarks on ambrosial odyssey, a true #tastingmenu of #tobacco involving leaves from three nations, a quartet of #chefs and the might of Davidoff’s crack team of blenders and rollers, or as the instruction put it in ornamental prose to which I can only aspire: ‘When four of the world's foremost curators of fine dining lent their talent for taste discernment to Davidoff's team of cigar creators, unsurprisingly the result is something from the very top table of flavour.’
As always with special cigars from Davidoff the instruction manual comes with a handy guide to the flavours one encounters at every providing a very helpful degustatory framework upon which to hang one’s own observations. Construction is perfect - the firmness belying an excellent draw, and wrappers are a pleasingly uniform shade somewhere between #Colorado and #Coloradooscuro. Much as we searched for shortcoming we found none and the flavours obeyed those laid out in the manual to almost the nearest millimetre (I hyperbolize only slightly) .
