My auto repair-tainment first ever head gasket replacement appeared to have failed after only 52 miles when I discovered a new coolant drip on the driveway. Looking under the car, I saw a brand new 'goldish' bolt staring down from me on the backside of the water pump and instantly realized the new water pump clam shell housing was seeping coolant.
So far, the new head gasket is going great - now at 135 miles including 40+ miles of local highway 65-80 mph sustained driving. Although I am still waiting to run a full tank of gas curing the new head gasket before putting the pedal to the floor driving our beloved Floki adventure van.
Follow along on 'hopefully' my final video update in the 1994 Toyota Previa LE SC AllTrac head gasket / water pump replacement series - be sure to watch Previa Mahyem, Previa Mayhem 2 - Heater Hosed, and Previa Mayhem 3 - Head Gasket videos as well.
