Resolving Previa Exhaust After P0171 & P0420 Codes & Lacquer Thinner Cleaning Cats

After driving 150+ miles at 75mph for the lacquer thinner catalytic converter cleaner attempt, the Previa developed a terrible rattle in the exhaust line - most likely inside the upstream catalytic converter.
The Tiger Patch repair of the dilapidated exhaust flex pipe was quickly disintegrating within a week and again becoming quite airy under load.
This required a trip to the professionals at Boulder Muffler. Follow along as we seek final resolution on our Previa exhaust line issues with the P0171 System Too Lean and P0420 Catalyst System-Efficiency Below Threshold code issues the past year.

I was quoting 2500 for my 2010 nissan with 226,000 miles and none in stock at the dealership and no eta on getting one in. The code just came on so I'm going to try the lacquer thinner thanks for the update and video. JJ from waldport Oregon

Sad to see CO adapt tighter SMOG limits on a 30 year car. Was the old version CAT that much different or just cost more in paper work. CA has CATs that are $800 vs the common $150 price. They both do the same and get tested every 2 years too.

I replaced the Toyota OEM Cats several years ago with non-OEM / non-CARB units. CO moved to CARB requirement 2023 so those cheap CAT options are no longer available. With our growing population, I am fine to spend extra $$$ to keep our beautiful blue sky and outdoor environments in tip-top condition. I think the larger issue for the new 2023 CARB requirements are for all of the modified cars running custom tunes outside of their OEM specifications - been hearing some interesting stories of expiring / locked-out registrations during annual emission testing...

@arsBlue sky, out door environments in tip-top condition and chemtrails don't compute. 🤫Isn't the CAT a solution looking for a problem imposed by the government? BTW. there is no growing population in the west. Quite the opposite. Unless the border patrol is not on duty and your country flooded with illegals. 😉
