I have to thank you for introducing me to Levin - despite being in Europe I was not familiar with them. I had been looking for a parlour guitar for some time without success, so your lucky break pointed me in the right direction and I sourced a beautiful little 1925 model from a collector in Denmark, which just arrived yesterday and is everything I was looking for. OK so I had to pay somewhat more than $8 but a nevertheless a huge saving compared to the Martins, Collings etc I had been looking at. So thanks, your good luck sent me in the right direction.

OMG, I have been e-mailing every music shop in Britain trying to get a small body 12 fret with wide neck and bar frets (with a scary amount of money put aside for when I find one!) and you pick one up for $8 at a flea market, you are one lucky man.

From u.k Look at my reply under MAD CYRIL old parlours are as you know are expensive. Do you live in the U.S.? If so I think Martin or Taylor make parlour guitars. I’d stick with one of those, less hassle. In my comment I got an Alhambra classical full size from a car boot sale For 3 pounds worth 300. For years I’ve struggled with playing guitars electric and acoustic. My two lads picked them up and went on to play in separate rock bands well into their 30s. I saw a baritone ukulele tutorial on KZbin. 4 strings baritone deeper sounding than the other 2 ukes. Tuned D.G.B.E. All over it in no time! A damn site easier than a guitar, and smaller like a parlour and a lot cheaper! Mine is a Tanglewood baritone, I think Martin and Taylor make those as well. Has to be a baritone for depth. Take care.

@@madcyril4135Thanks for your reply. I live in the UK, and I have been mainly focusing on looking for Collings, Martin or Taylor parlour guitars, with a sideways glance at some of the luthiers in mainland Europe (Fotopoulos have some interesting models). Even new parlour guitars from any of those makers are rare here, and vintage ones - forget it! especially as I have a pretty tight spec of what I am looking for. Until I saw Patrik's lucky find I was not really aware of Levin, but I am well impressed with that one and started looking into it. Most of the vintage Levins i can find are in Sweden (hardly surprising!) but I have found an interesting 1934 model in a shop in Wales, which I am currently making enquiries about.

From u.k. Beautiful instrument you have pal! Why bother with any other acoustic! A mate of mine his only guitar was a parlour guitar. Small body and loud, took it everywhere. I got a classical full size Alhambra from a car boot sale 3 yrs ago, for 3 pounds! Looks similar to yours, old wood earl 60s? Leave it in D.A.D.G.A.D. tuning great sound. Finds like this are rare, plus you can play the bloody thing! Better than I could, I wouldn’t sell it at any cost! Take care.

I think the guitar found you, hold on to it ,you play great and the guitar needs to be played it would be a shame to just end up as part of a collection gathering dust.

That's insane! Killer sounding guitar. Not sure how its braced but i would run really light strings. Maybe even some silk and steels. It might be holding that amount of tension now but depending on bracing it could fold up on you. But man that thing is cool! You seem to have a nack for finding the good ones man. What a good score!
