looks like a corvette hubcap, I lost one on the highway in Syracuse one time That's an Apple IIC, the crt monitor can sit on top or above it. It was mean to be "portable" probably meaning you could take it from one monitor to another easily (like work and home). there's a fold out handle on the back I think. that slot on the side is a 5" floppy drive door to a microwave

Apple first produced a portable computer way back in 1989. It weighed 16 pounds (about four times as heavy as a modern MacBook Pro), had a tiny black and white screen, and cost a whopping $6,500 ($12,500 in today's dollars). Needless to say, they didn't sell many. Apple had more success when they introduced the much smaller and more affordable Powerbook line in 1992. Since then, Apple laptops have steadily gotten thinner, lighter, cheaper, and more powerful. Today, you can pick up a MacBook Air for $899.

Don't know if I'm the first to say this in the comments, but that computer is waaaaaaaay older than a Macbook Pro. THAT, gentlemen, is an APPLE IIc! I believe this was the next to last of the Apple II line that saw popularity in the 80s. Though not a laptop in the classic sense, this model WAS marketed as a portable computer, hence the handle.

APPLE IIC - 1984 The Apple IIc represented Apple’s first attempt at both a portable computer and “out-of-the-box” functionality. The only problem with classifying the IIc as a “portable” computer is the fact that it lacked a portable power supply.

It did not have a hard drive, and no they are not worth much.. You could get a monochrome CRT 9" or a color CRT for a bit more money.. They did have a Apple Flat Panel Display that was one color and did not work well or sell well.. But yeah.. Its an Apple II 4th gen.. And is not related to a Mac.. Only connection is that they were both built by apple. The Mac and Apple 2 were not the same computers at all.

13:19 That kind of Mac Book did not use a monitor. Instead, it used a standard TV... Which you would hook up to it. That meant that there where fights in your home on wheather the TV would be used to do work or play movies (unless you bought a dedicated TV). 13:40 CDs did not exist when they made mad Mac Book! That was no CD player, it was a 5.25 inch floppy disk drive, probably a single sided one (with a humongus 128 KB of capacity!)

It was essentially a souped-up version of the 8-bit Apple IIc. It was less advanced (but still faster) than the higher-end, 16-bit Apple IIGS, which was also doing the rounds at the time.
