The concrete dust inside the safe can contain silica which is basically tiny crystal particles from the concrete you were pounding . Over exposure to large amounts of it at a given time or through out years of exposure can cause silicosis which is a lung disease . Which will scar your lungs and harm your breathing , eventually leading to breathing problems . In some cases lung cancer or death . Wear a respirator if your cutting concrete, drilling concrete , or in your case sledge hammering concrete . Take it from a construction worker who has been in so many classes talking about all the bad stories of people’s family members who have died because of the disease , it’s no joke . Please wear a Respirator. ❤️ love the vids by the way keep up the great work . 💪

Absolutely correct, but it could be even more dangerous: filling the safe casing with asbestos, for example. e. g. cement-bound asbestos or fire protection boards LAP. And that's really deadly, you're also contaminating your workspace.

A professional locksmith could have opened that safe in 30 minutes with no damage and you would have the contents, an antique safe, which could be worth a lot in some markets and no risk to your lungs from the asbestos, which was very common in those older safes. If he could no manipulate it open, a single hole about 1/8" would show the wheel pack and it could then be dialed open and the hole repaired.

Hi, I'm from Germany and I like to watch your videos. My english is not good but i see what you are doing and that is great. The safe was very nice and what's inside is even nicer! We in Germany have no storage to auction. Only case auction and they were checked for illegal things beforehand ... Keep it up, I like it! Greetings from Germany

@Jeremy The masonic item at 22:50 looks as though it could be either a "Fob Watch charm" or a ceremonial medal of sorts that belonged to someone who was a member of "The Knights Templar" sub division of the Masons. Honestly don't know if the American masons have the order of The Knights Templar or if it is just an English / European order. If it is English or European however the item is more than likely to be made from 9ct or 18ct gold.

Hey i own a vintage pawn shop and these are extremely rare and valuable goods . the confederate money is deed authentic and the goods . the money alone are worth $15,000 . the coins together are worth $20,000 because they are made very densely and aren’t made the same way and that makes them limited and you just don’t see them all the time. the tickets are for a show that was very popular and it was for exclusive people and were able to meet the president and are worth $30,000. the safe was vintage and if kept new and was able to proper open and refurbished, could reach $200,000 because the sales back in the day were very dense with concrete and the art was sought after . all together with the things found in the jewel box, could be valued $200,000-$300,000

This safe has some old stuff in it but it has been opened somewhere well after 1960, considering it has a small plastic bag in it containing coins.

The ‘snuff box’ looks more like a coin holder, used for high value coin. In the uk it would be a gold sovereign, It would be more tarnished if it had been used for snuff. It would be held on a watch chain with a pocket watch and the fob from the safe with key attached.

Not asbestos only concrete. Concrete does not burn so there's no need for asbestos. Also on this kind of safe use a hole saw 3 or 4 inches in diameter and drill next to dial so you can reach in and manipulate the dial.
