Ask Jeff Williams Didn’t have much of a nugget trap no, I had a boil box on the second sluice that I added. Planning on going back next season with a bigger operation. Will make sure I have a defector next time as well! Memories for a lifetime! Hard to match the excitement back home after living the miner life up north. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Amazing jeff commented! Hey where are you mining? I found an amazing creek in west nippising and also a couple rough diamonds. Ive literally been doing what you guys are without knowing people do that lol. Building. Digging looking! I need more man power though. No young guys want to work these days! Except my 11yr old son. That boy shoveled 6 yrds with only a drink inbetween. All on his own. 😅

That was a great first season !! Finding that old stuff is pretty cool !! I was working a claim back in the late 80's out in Hixon and we found rock carvings of people feet. One was broken from the hoe, but the other one was in perfect shape and in perfect balance when you set it on a level surface. What you are doing now is exactly what I am going to try this year myself out back of the Bowron area

@pertinentparadigm13374 жыл бұрын
Bad ass man! Love the custom work you welded up yourself, looks profesh AF! For any "environmentalists" in the comment section, reclamation after mining actually improves the environment... assuming that's at least half of the dislike ratio...
@Anthonymoth4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes your right, the entire area had been mined twice before me, once in the 1870’s and then again in the 1930’s. But you could hardly tell with all the regrowth, and of course the old timers didn’t even bother with reclamation.
@IronWarrior95 Жыл бұрын
30oz? I hope in one week or two.. or do you mean the whole season? If yes, how long was the season? Because it looks like you could really make at least 10oz to 15oz a week in average and a 16 week season could really make a change.

I'd say prepere well, be critical about the claim do as much research as you can because no matter how hard you work, the gold in the ground will determen the outcome. Only mine the best place you can possibly find! On average ground you can go bankrupt if critical equipment breaks down once to often
@Diablofeb42 жыл бұрын
I would consider this a prospecting adventure cause your operation is so small it's not feasible. The amount of money, equipment, time/wages, and effort to get to the mine site, you should've been well over 30 ounces your first reason. But your equipment is to small to make any real big money plus lacking a few key components to maximize your gold recovery.
@Anthonymoth2 жыл бұрын
It was a prospecting adventure, I went back last year and mined the rest of ground with a full size operation. One should always test small before committing with large equipment.

That's a lot of hard work. Have mined the Germanson from the bend to the number 7 pit at the airport , come across 3 different kinds of gold and found the gold in different types of strata. Had one test pan after the hoe opened up a hole at the entrance to Halloways bar and it weighted up a little more than 5 grams, the next day was our best day ever, we chased it for week under that nice boulder clay, then we come across where the oldtimers had creamed it, the Manson's the same way,the going gets good and then you start finding square nails and timbers, just can't believe the oldtimers mined all that by hand.
@Anthonymoth4 жыл бұрын
I bet we have some stories we could share, when were you working up there?
@rickszabo43124 жыл бұрын
@@Anthonymoth You bet, still go up there to see friends, worked for a few outfits from 83 to 87 , pulled wrenches and ran loader and cat, keep plugging away at it ,the only problem you find up there is when you go big , you run out of ground quickly, mining underground and washing gold at the germansen pit in the winter of 85-86 was pretty cool. The rules to mine now , make it a game, only the wealthy can play.
@Anthonymoth4 жыл бұрын
rick szabo I bet we have the same friends, very cool that you worked in there. I heard the cleanups out of those drifts were very impressive. I agree, if I went full scale I would mine the bench I’m on in a year and be out of work. Think I’m gonna go back slightly bigger but just do it for a hobby and keep the day job. Maybe mine one month a year sort of thing.
