We are back with another retro game hunting episode! As always we game hunt at all the typical stops from flea markets, Goodwills and other thrift stores in the area. Also, we legit found this Nintendo DSi in the parking lot of a game store! Make sure to tune into the full video to see what happened. Not a ton in terms of sales on Ebay but we are about to get serious about buying and reselling online to get more funds for the game fund collection. Thank you all for coming along on my live video game hunting adventures and for watching episode 39 of the $10 Dollar Game Collection Challenge!

I've actually found a handful of game's in the middle of the street/sidewalks, I got my childhood copy of Mario Kart 64 when walking home from school and boom it was in the middle of the sidewalk. I believe that if it's in the middle of the street and no one is around then it's fair play. If someone is around I ask them once if it's theirs and if they say no I claim it. I definitely wouldn't have given that DSi to the store owner's as it wasn't hers either and she's probably just going to sell it online in 'for parts' condition.

Favorite gift was getting to uphold a tradition with my wife and her family of being able to get together for another year. We have a fantastic breakfast together and do our gift exchange and always play some sort of tabletop game--and it's always a blessing to be gifted another year to do this with them. Even more in crazy pandemic times like these. I really like the VHS holders--I'm always wanting to add them to our collection if I can think of someplace to put them and something to do with them. Glad to see you did the right thing--if something is found, in a parking lot especially--since it's very, very likely to have been dropped--the right thing is to turn it over and hopefully get it to its rightful owner.

I grew up with the SNES Junior, when the PS came out my parents said they wouldn't buy me a new console but that I could trade the SNES and games with accessories and do extra work around the house to work up towards it. At the time I thought it was a great option but since I have really regretted it. The memories I have playing that system and the nostalgia are crazy. So I've been on the lookout but always appear to be a day late or a dollar short whenever they come around. This series illustrates that problem well with having the funds and not needing over needing and not having and of course, needing to be at the right place at the right time.

Well, something similar happened to me last year. I went over to the local Tender Centre, and found just outside in the parking lot, a Nintendo Wii console, just abandoned there. I did what you did with the DSi, and inquired about it to the staff. The good people there said I could have it for free! It did not have cords nor controllers, but it still worked perfectly upon testing it out at home, and it even had a copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl inside. So in my case, I really was lucky.

25:06 Not sure if you know this, but that little circle below the disc drive on the 360 is actually a release mechanism for the disc drive. They've had those for disc drives since they originally came out in computers back in the late 80's/90's. Just get a paperclip, straighten it out, and push it through that tiny hole, and the drive should open. No need to break it open.
@Stoudman
@Stoudman 3 жыл бұрын
The bad news is I don't think the PS3 has something like that, because it's one of those drives that automatically sucks games in and spits them out, so it requires some kind of power to eject a disc.

So, three questions, three answers: 1. Thanks to my brother and a super awesome sales guy we were able to get a PS5 for Christmas. 2. For $1.50 I would've gotten the Zelda shield, but not for the shelf. I'd get it for my kids to play with. 3. I would've taken the DSI to the shop to see and probably would've ended up doing what you did, but I would prefer to ask if I could have it seeing as it's just being recycled anyway. There's still parts value there. Hope you had a great Christmas, Rick!

Oh hell yeah, I'd love to see a video where you try to repair a GBC. Such a cool idea. The speaker also probably needs replacing, but unless you know how to use a soldering iron, that won't be possible. To be fair, you can get a soldering iron pretty cheap and learning how to use it isn't too terribly difficult, it's more a matter of being careful with it.

Their’s a small little piece of plastic on the right side of the PS2 Slim that make the console register a disc is inside and the lid is closed. If it is broken it won’t spin. Open the lid and take a pin and see if the disc spins. If so take the top off and tape down the sensor and it will work.

Rick: "Welcome back to •episode nine of•…" My autistic logic: Is this part 2 of epidode nine…? I can never tell if my brain is less or more effective than anyone else's… It's like comparing a Kureg(?) coffee maker with a Tassimo(?) coffee maker… They both work… they just work… differently… Though I feel I'm a Tassimo. Not because it's better, but because it interprets barcodes to decide what needs to be done. Kureg does the same thing for all its drinks. Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, it does what it always does. Tassimo's barcodes, •if they wanted to go down that route,• could arguably program the machine to heat the water to a certain temperature, the speed to pour it at (something akin to slow filter to semi-simulate seeping), and such. I like to think I'm adaptable and produce great results, but not necessarily efficient in my methods. No, being inefficient doesn't mean the end result is bad; it means I consume more time esources getting a result than would be needed if done efficiently.

Integrity is what you do when you think people aren't looking. I worked at a Walmart as a cart pusher for 5 years, terrible job, awful company to work for. I found tons of cellphones, tablets, DS and 3DS handhelds. No Vitas. Lots of wallets and purses and even a bag the store would put money in for the armored cars. Collectively, I found more than $500 people left sitting in the ATM machine. Everything got turned in. No one ever thanked me for it, no rewards. You could maybe make off with some, but then honestly, you are no better than those same people who try to shoplift or leave their trash in carts or leave them sitting all over the parking lot instead of using cart corrals. It had been said that that alone is a decent test of civilization, how people handle their carts. It's a hazard if you just ditch them, damage the cart, damage vehicles, cause accidents, because you felt like not doing one simple thing with something there for your convenience. Gotta say, people generally suck. So yes. You find something like that, you turn it in to the desk. They come back for it, you are on camera, you get pulled aside or your information handed over to whomever as a result, no one to blame but yourself. Its the right thing to do.

You definitely did the right thing. I found a handbag years ago on the back of a shopping trolley, the purse was full of money, I handed it in to the supermarket and it was a little old ladies bag, she'd just got her pension money. I also hand things in, at the end of the day its not mine to take and my parents didn't raise me to be dishonest

My favorite gift this year was that Kendall asked people without me knowing if they had old Pokémon stuff for me. I ended up getting a TON of Pokémon cards and a Time Magazine from 1999 with the Pokémon cover story. So fun! Also, I would’ve taken the game stuff into the store and asked if they knew who it belonged to. If they were gonna just throw it away or recycle I may have asked if I could just keep it haha

For the 2nd white Xbox 360: Just press the disc drive button, that powers on the console aswell. Or use a small screwdriver or pen to push the power button. Or swap the faceplate over from the other one, they're just klicked on.

I got some nice goodies to upgrade my pc setup this xmas! It’s been challenging to hunt for things for my retro collection lately, but I’ll just keep living through you like in your every other video 😅 happy new year!

I found an iPad mini in the street once, in great shape in protection and had the thought of keeping it but knew someone would miss it. I knocked on some nearby doors and the first lady that opened instantly recognised it as her son's and has already happened once before. Talk about luck for her and bad luck for me 😄

Gotta make sure the black 360s have the hard drive in them! If they have the 250gb hard drive you can easily get around $70 or more plus shipping for them!

For was my Overlord light novels, always a fun read. And the Pokemon Yellow I got over the summer someone literally tossed it in the garbage. It had a crack on the back but it still works great.

My Son work hours got cut because of the Pandemic. I told him something homemade but he wanted to buy me something. So, I asked him to take me to my favorite store, Goodwill. I was lucky I found a Wii remote, original Xbox controller and cool Star Wars purse. It was about $20 for everything. I was super happy what I got 😁

My favourite gift is usually just money. My step family would give me money because they believe that I should go out and buy my own things and have them not assume. Also that Zelda shield would look great mounted on a wall
