Congratulations in advance, Daniel, on your High School graduation. Nice to see you have completed your collection of TYCO tender drives with the elusive Uncle Pete. I'm sure you'll do well in your new job. Thanks for sharing. 👍🐾👍

Congratulations on graduating and your plans to be a mechanic. This video was nice to see because of your passion to complete your collection paid off. Who would have thought a Union Pacific engine would be that rare. Take care.

Dan, great video, and the end encouraged me to take some time to comment. I was buying the trains you're collecting when they were first coming out. Tyco was an under-appreciated name in the market. They introduced a lot of the kids at that time. Their running quality compared to others at the time wasn't the best. There were still leftover pieces from the Mantua era that were excellent, and could be super detailed to bring them up to a whole different level to compete with others such as Bowser, MDC/Roundhouse, and even Brass. The kits allowed people to have the experience of building their own train, then run it, with only needing a few simple tools. In life you'll have times where your trains will take a back seat to everything else going on in life. During those times, if you can, put some plastic over your layout to preserve it, and your scenery. Then when the mood, and time comes available, you can uncover it, and have less cleaning up time to get trains running. I've unfortunately had part of my collection stolen from me twice in my life losing some irreplaceable pieces. That led me to try other scales, only later in life returning to HO and acquiring copies of things I had through my youth, a lot which were gifts through the years, allowing all those memories to come back. Trains were always there through good times, and were comforting through rough times. You'll always have periods of time where life and times get in the way of hobby time, as long as you still have the passion for trains, you'll get back to it when you're ready. Your content is great, and you have a great personality for making videos, so keep doing you, and I'll look forward to when you bring out new content.

Love the video Dan, it’s great that you now have all of the tender drives. I understand how it is making videos, I myself can be hard making videos. Take your time, trains can always wait! -Ben

Congratulations Dan on your Tyco find! And good luck with your future life and welcome to adulthood. If you recall I commented on one of your S-10 restoration videos about your slow but definite decline in train time as adult things will now consume more time than you like. You said no way you wanted to get back to the train room and videos and you wanted to make the time for them. Now here we/you are telling the DirtyDan Train world that your time for this stuff is getting hard to come by. I told you so Mr. Dan. being adult changes everything. Trains will be a very small part of you life now but stick with it they will help you survive the awful things happening in the world these days and I will always be on the lookout for new DirtyDan Train videos if ever they come back...

I don't know if my memory is biased by this video, but I have seen this UP locomotive at train shows back in the 1980's and 1990's. I didn't think much of it at the time, but I may have had one in the UP paint scheme if my memory is correct (Also, my memory could be wrong). This time frame would have been during my childhood and teenage years (1980s to 1990s). As far as this locomotive being rare, my theory is that they were more common during the 1970s to the 1990s, but like many of these Tyco locomotives, many were lost due to damage and were thrown away. This is the reason that many Tyco locomotives are much harder to find, today. Back in the 1980s to 1990s, Tyco items were a lot easier to find, and dealers had a much harder time in selling these items. At times, the dealers had to almost give away these items just to get rid of them.

That’s a heck of a trip back honestly, I think I got that thing 3 years ago now. But here’s the skinny on that deal, from what I thought it looked like some king of pre-pod or weird 1 off, though upon further inspection it was a repainted model. I still think it would make a nice video though so I’ll think about it.

Great stuff Dan, happy you were able to complete the collection! I totally feel you when comes to the future of your channel! I'm going through a bit of that myself, as there's been some pretty big shake ups at work (mainly due to BNSF no longer willing to deadhead their crews in vans) and its put a bit of a damper on what to do when it comes to content for anything new that gets added. Thankfully, there is enough old stuff in my collection to do things like retro reviews and videos on for the foreseeable future and I've been doing some gaming stuff with the NASCAR Heat 5 career mode series (which honestly, I'd rather set up a separate channel specifically for that, honestly). Anyway, enjoy the content as always Dan, hope to see more in the future!

@@dirtydanstrains1414 according to the person I acquired it from it’s from the 1982 catalog, he was an employee who helped test test and design some of the paint schemes the 780 is his personal mark for the ones he made designs for with 3 units (Soo,ACL and AMT) getting this mark before entering production however the ACL unit was canceled due to a unknown issue and the Soo unit was canceled for issues with the red plastic I just posted more photos of it and it’s catalogue listing

@@JustATeenageRailfan while that is an intriguing story and the engine does look interesting no doubt, I still have my suspicions about the legitimacy of this employees claims. Shoot me an email at danielhauck67@gmail.com and I can help you look into it a bit further and get some hard evidence.
