In the books at least, when we pick up 150 years on, the Empire has well and truly fallen, with it's last bastion being a tiny cluster of worlds around New Trantor, Old Trantor is now an agrarian world with the cities slowly being recycled for scrap materials and the last Emperor, is a senile old man, constantly rambling about how he'll soon crush the usurper and restore the empire to glory.

Yeah, well blame greedy studios for cutting tv series down from 25 episodes a season to 10 or 8, or even 6. Then they say bullshit about quality, even although the technology of before is bigger than now. Profts start to dip after the first episode, and after eight episodes, 70% of the people watching the first episode are still watching the season even although this stil makes them money, they don't think it's enough, especially when production studios say things cost more than they actually do, in an effort to get out of income tax.

@@SCARRIOR everything you said is ignorant BS, and I say that out of love. Dig into your comparisons even a little and you'll see that there is no comparison. If you want to inform yourself about some of the changes you've experienced in your lifetime, we've watched shows trade English dialog (good writing) for more expensive to produce special effects, due to the globalized market. This is especially notable in movies. But thanks to streaming, we are in a golden age of quality tv shows due to the extreme competition between services. Unfortunately due to globalization we will never see more dialog driven shows like Star Trek TNG with lots and lots of episodes a season. They were A LOT cheaper to produce.
