Excvating around the back of a house to install underground gutter drains and a new foundation drain system. We sealed the foundation and backfilled with a coarse drainage stone as well!

Thanks Nick , Fitz and Dillon , this was a very tricky job to tackle . Working around foundations and stick outs usually means lots of hand shoveling but the Tilt Rotator seemed to be the answer once again , thanks for sharing the video i enjoyed it ... hit the likes people to help the channel . 👍👍👍

Thanks again for watching and commenting! The tiltrotator definitely came in handy again on this one. It makes you wonder why they are not more popular here in the US. We are 100% sold on it and can't wait to put one on the next machine we buy.....one day!

Just curious, why not move the downspout closer to the house, instead of digging the long trench
@NKLandscapingLLC

We like to get the water as far away from the house as possible. We also need to achieve at least 1/4” per foot of slope on our pipe, so that usually dictates where we can daylight our pipes.

Around 49min it looks like your bucket / boom isnt holding hydrolic pressure. It is slowly dropping during the timelapse.

That’s pretty normal, especially when the machine is off. There is always going to be a little leak down.

Hey Nick, once again, great video. That Steelwrist tiltrotator makes my back feel better. 😊 Quick question, was water getting inside the house? I may have missed you saying something about it.

Yes, during the spring when the ground was very saturated with water, they would get a moist basement. Nothing too crazy, just enough dampness to warrant a drainage system.

@@NKLandscapingLLCdid u have to guarantee it would stop getting moisture in it? I would think before they spend a couple thousand they would want to know for sure it would help

nick, you had a choice of equipment and chose the 33 over the 40...why was that? that thing does amazing work...I have an opportunity to get one or the other. do you wish you had a the bigger one?
@NKLandscapingLLC
@NKLandscapingLLC Жыл бұрын
A few reasons: -The 33 is non-turbocharged, with no emissions equipment. This makes it extremely efficient and reliable. We have had 0 issues in over 1000hrs. -Weight; the 33 is a bit lighter and we needed to be able to haul the 33 with our skidsteer on the same trailer. -Cost and availability; we got a VERY good deal on our machine when we bought it. It was on the dealer lot, and they threw in an additional bucket with the sale. Overall, we have been EXTREMELY happy with our 33. We do not ever plan to get rid of of it. In the future, we do plan to add a KX080 to the fleet in addition to the 33. In my opinion, the only reasons to choose a 40 over the 33 would be for increased hydraulic flow, and the 6-way blade. Since the 40 is quite a bit more powerful, it will run things like a mower or mulcher much better than the 33. I wish the 6-way blade was available on more than just the 40.

Let's not forget air conditioning. I don't know if the 33 has the air or not but I think it does start at the 040 which is the unit I've been looking at. I'm getting old, I like it nice and cool inside, :-)

I went to school for Diesel Technology as well as Landscape contracting. Believe it or not, they didn’t teach a lot of the things that we do. We have been doing this since 2012, so it has taken over 10 years to accumulate all of the knowledge and equipment that we use.

@@NKLandscapingLLC which buckets and attachments would you get if you would have to order everything again?
@NKLandscapingLLC
@NKLandscapingLLC Жыл бұрын
Our current bucket lineup is as follows: -Rotastar RS2-4 -MG20 Multi-Grapple -12” & 18” smooth trenching buckets -24” toothed digging bucket -41” smooth grading bucket -Ripper -Pallet Forks If I were to change anything, I would ditch the 12” trenching bucket. I always go for the 18”, and rarely use the 12”. I would do a 48” grading bucket. The 41” is awesome, but 48” would be better! I would add a 36” toothed digging bucket as well. The 24” is great for heavy digging, but 36” would be nice for bulk moving. The rest of the attachments are absolutely necessary for our line of work. The only one I would consider swapping would be the grapple. I would swap for a CMP brand grapple with teeth instead of the flat style grapple like ours.

@@NKLandscapingLLC Have you considered getting a grading beam? I almost purchased a U27, but found out it doesn't have angle blade. So now in market to pick up the KX033

We have considered it. It is on our list of “eventually attachments”, right next to a broom attachment. Both are things that would be nice to have, but are absolutely necessary at the moment.
