I have about 19 foundations in my collection from drug store to high end including the CHANEL Perfection Lumiere Velvet for around $50.00. But the one that I reach for everyday since purchasing it: the Elf foundation stick for $6.00. It is amazing!

When you went outside, your skin looked 10yrs younger, it was beautiful!! Could you please consider doing half your face in Chanel and half your face in Shiseido please? Although it may not be perfectly equal for you, it sounds like this comparison would be extremely helpful for others (like me)!!! :)

Angie, this make up looks so good on you. All the other makeup you are wearing is so beautiful, so soft and pretty. Anyway thanks for doing the foundation reviews. I've tried so many, but what I've learned from you is to try them with different application tools and primers to find the best results. I'm 52 and I get so much inspiration and hope from you that I can still look good and be confident at 50 and beyond. Keep up the good work!!

Your review is spot on. I did a blind buy on it, and looks lovely when i wore while working from home, it has very beautiful luminosity. However as soon as i used a primer, it started to slip badly. I used it with Tatcha Silk Canvas, Milk Hydro Grip- same issue both times. I even set it with Charlotte Tilbury powder, and setting spray, it still separated. This foundation def doesnt like primer or even heavy moisturiser. However without those, it looks fab on skin. It is of a similar look as my HG Armani Luminous Silk.

Thanks for reviewing this foundation. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and love it. For reference I have sahara dry skin so I don't have any oil issues. On me there is zero settling into lines in wrinkles which is huge for me and no emphasizing pores. Sponge is a better application for me. I get some streaks with a brush. It wears really well and for a long time on me (11 hrs). I have heard this compared to the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric with the Shiseido being $20 cheaper. I was surprised that it is not too matte for my dry skin. Love all of your reviews!

I tried the foundation and had trouble with the color match. Ended up getting the hula liquid bronzer and adding that to it. I also found at the end of an 8 to 9 hour day the texture of my skin looked funky around my mouth area and chin. I used it with the hourglass primer and Charlotte Tillsbury wonder glow. It did not slide around my face with either product underneath it. I have dry skin . I also had trouble with it sucking moisture out from underneath my eyes. For that reason I went to Georgio Armani luminous silk and I am very happy with that. I did also try using the shiseido as a contour foundation down the center of my face and using a darker foundation ( Georgio Armani power fabric down the sides of my face. ) That is when I really noticed a textural difference between the 2 foundations or the shiseido was really texturally off compared to the Georgio Armani .

Hi Angie, I thought your skin looked beautiful with this foundation, so much so that I promptly went out last weekend and picked up a sample. We appear to have similar coloring, and I went with the Neutral 3, which is a very good match for me. You were right...this didn't settle into fine lines/wrinkles, and the coverage was what I would call medium. It felt very lightweight and was easy to blend. I think my skin may be a tad drier than yours, so for me this has worked even better than the Chanel which is your HG. Thank you again for your in-depth reviews of foundation, makeup and skincare. You are a joy to watch! Also, I noticed that this Synchro Skin foundation comes in a glowy version.

Hi Angie! Just tried a foundation by chance and I lovvvvvve it! It is Terre Mère fluid foundation. I have dry, extra sensitive skin with redness, a tad oily on the T zone. I applied it with ( clean) hands and it melted into my skin! Would say light to medium coverage! For me, the best result was that it didn't accentuate my pores, nor my peach fuzz after 5 hours of wear. Only down side so far, it does seem to oxidize after a few minutes, lucky I got one shade lighter than my skin. I used "natural" for all over my face and "rose" in place of concealer to brighten some areas. Hope this can helps some of your subscribers! So

I really like this foundation. Mainly because it is a lighter coverage and has that looks like skin feel. Ive used it with several primers and didn't have an issue. My favorite is the Guerlain Meteorites one, then HG mineral Veil.

I've been using this foundation for about 1 month - and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. My coloring is similar to yours, and we wear the same colors in other foundations, but I got the Golden 3 shade. Both Sephanie Marie and Mandy Davis MUA reviewed this also - and that was the color they used too. Thanks for the review - as always, fabulous job!

So Angie, I have searched and searched for a foundation I like that actually looks like skin and matches my skin instead of having me buy two and mixing or adding dark color drops to the right tone, etc.--you know the drill. Loved a couple, but the price was not worth it to me, nor did it match perfectly. This Lancome Synchro Skin Foundation not only matches my skin perfectly (Neutral 4), but has a similar consistency ri the Urban Decay Weightless foundation that I loved, but could not find a match for my skin. It seems watery, but covers to a medium coverage AND for a higher-end foundation, it is reasonable compared to the Lancome Absolue Foundation at $69 for 1 ounce or the Dior Capture youth for $82--gad!! I used my regular skin care with my favorite PCA Sheer Skin Tint Broad Spectrum 45 SPF before putting on my primer. I have 12 primers, but decided to use my Clean Slate gel primer (Tarte Clean Slate T5 Infused Natural Face Primer), which really softens fine lines and little wrinkles. I put on the foundation with my fingers then used my Artis brush Oval #7 to smooth it out all over my skin. In places that I needed a little more coverage, I always use just a little IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness. After applying the rest of my makeup--contour, bronzer, blush, and highlight, I then used my Laura Mercier loose power or Cover FX (forgot) to blend in everything. It then appeared soft and blurry like I was looking through a filter. I am older than you, so this was a real surprise to me. When I was shopping at Spouts, the lady at the deli counter said that my makeup was just beautiful and that I must be a professional makeup artist--not! Said thank you, and at 10:00 pm, it looked exactly the same as it did at 10:30 am. I think your skin is a bit oilier than mine, but I must say that even though it is not satiny or radiant and appears more matte, by using my Laura Mercier highlighter on my cheek bones towards my hairline, it appears to have a glow, and being a matte it doesn't make my fine lines stand out. My skin feels so incredibly smooth also. I think I've found my Holy Grail, finally!! Watch all your videos--keep on, keeping on ;-)

Hi Angie, being a hairstylist, my ears perked when you said you were in a hurry because you were on your way to the salon. Just a suggestion, when you do just your regrowth without highlights, ask your stylist how she feels about bumping up your formula one half level. This usually softens the regrowth as your hair grows. I have learned so much from your videos. Many, many thanks.

The Chanel was also my holy grail until I tried the L'Oreal Infallible Matte and mixed it with a little of my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. The new mixture gives full coverage and it is amazing! I love your Foundation Friday videos, many thanks! I just bought the NEW Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation and I really love it! I am 46 and have normal to combination and sensitive skin. Maybe you would be interested to review this new foundation...? FYI. The shades do not necessary match the GA Luminous Silk. I am shade 6.5 (Luminous Silk) and I decided for the shade 6 (Warm shade) in the Power Fabric and the shade 8 for the summer... Cons: the medium shades do unfortunately run either too peachy (6.5) and too ashy (7.5)

The same happened to me, and I have normal skin. It looked dry and separated after about an hour, every time I wore it. a make up consultant once told me that oil based foundations and silicone based primers (like all of them) don't fit together esp through a long day. for a night out it could hold. (something like this. I hope I quoted him correctly). dear angie, I know this is your channel and you can do whatever you want. you have your audience and me too, still I would like to give you a little feedback for one detail, that seems to irritate me more the often I see you doing it. I appreciate how thorough you are with all the different applications and all. That really impresses me. I feel the devotion resp. your dedication and accuracy feels like a gibt. but if you start reading a product specification or the claims of that item, it feels like '...I don't want to say something wrong...I don't want to forget something...hopefully noone will comment and say that I didn't describe it correctly...' and the worst one - it feels like you want to be perfect. so I could accept that. who am I to judge. on the contrary. other people with similar flaws like mine I like a lot and find them congenial - like you. but production specifications!? no. If someone really wants to know than he/she might have read it before (propably 3 times) and couldn't believe it. so they ask you to try it first. or they will read it anyway, or they wont lissen closely while you are reading... it irritates me more and more. of course I will continue watching your videos and support you, the best way you can, because I think you do a terrific job. maybe because I was so impressed with your expressivity and your personality I am convinced that you could do that much better in you own words. maybe with one and a half sentence - instead of reading that long descriptions. or maybe just mention if you find that a product misses it's claims distinctly

Thanks for the review, Angie! After watching your Chanel Lumiere Velvet review, there seems to be no doubt that the Chanel looks far superior; it's a great foundation. My favorites are IT CC YSBB, Mac Face & Body fluid, and the Chanel. Have you tried the IT Bye Bye Foundation? Maybe you could review that one for us. Thanks!

Angie, great review Thank you!!! That foundation was on my list to try. I'm still super satisfied with my Estee Lauder double wear ( for now). Have a fantastic weekend!!!♥️

Your skin looks so fabulous! Love the lip and cheek match. Really looks fresh, natural and youthful. I knew when the video began and I saw your skin, it had to be HG#2! Arrrgghhh. I promise not to leave your side if you are willing to keep the Angie HG Test Lab running. Love the new sound effect on the graphic pop up and the side by side comparison visual. You always put so much time into testing just wanted to make sure you knew your editing was appreciated too! And by the way, you aren't the only one that exists in the short trip lane, I think it makes us more creative! ; )

hi Angie, I think you will love the Shiseido perfect refining foundation. It has the same packaging as your Chanel foundation.

Emmy Ros Oh no! I still can get it here in Europe at some online stores. So annoying when they do that. Dior did that with my favourite perfume Midnight Poison.

you are looking awesome! I recently heard of cacay oil and haven't bought it yet but it appears to be super antiaging and equivalent to retin a. I have used retin a and glycolic acid for about 25 years so I am excited to try this oil. check into it if have never heard of it. it comes from the amazon in Colombia. I know you are into sun screen and you might want to check into red raspberry seed oil. its a natural spf. l look forward to your video on cacay oil if you decide to try it! much love

Hi Angie, QUESTION: I tried your holy grail foundation and it felt wonderful but up close looked dry and flakey on my skin, plus did settle into wrinkles. I think my skin is a tad dryer and rougher than yours. Do you think this Shiseido Synchro Skin might work better for me? BTW, thank you for your wonderful reviews. They are fantastic and so helpful (even if my husband does sometimes stand behind me and say "she is VERY pretty" while I'm watching them, haha) I love that you list the products in the description area too.
