Added to my playlist. I'm starting a graff/b-boy/skate/radical community, it'll be worldwide and helpful. No bait shit, save that for secret communication. Bullying and stuff will be semi allowed, like Reddit. It's cool to be funny and hate breeds creativity, but there's limits. Let me know if you want to be a part of it. Anyone welcome, any race, sex, orientation, ability, or viewpoint. There will be conspiracies, moderation, media share, everything I can possibly think of while I'm suffering through insomia I am writing down to do with this. Peace! 🕊️ ✌️ GTA - G-Tips-Allworld

Thanks Everybody.. This is Rezidue. Some facts about this song unknown to the public..This record was recorded at Database Studio in the Bronx New York in 1996. Originally the music for Boogie Down's Got The Flavor was intended to be an R&B song for a female singer but while in the studio her brother Ramel came up with that chorus and changed the direction of the song to hip hop. Foundation happen to call the studio during the session and came right to the studio. Ramel left before he we laid the vocals which is why he's not on the song and why there's only two verses instead of three. But Ramel was expected to return to lay the second part of the chorus which named different parts of The Bronx but he never returned to the studio and the song was picked up by Buds Distribution and released in 1996.

This is what is great about youtube. The artists chiming in about their music and they get to see all the love it' s getting 20 years later. I have heard this joint so many times over the years and never gets old. Underground NY Hip Hop from the mid 90's is a time that will never be better in hip hop history.

I live in France and we have some very heavy stuff here. But this atmosphere is unique. Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessum, EPMD, Wu-Tang, Rakim, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest and sooooo many others are a real representation of what you say. A real musical richness, a delight for the ears. And Englishmen like Funky Dl or the one and only MF DOOM are just as brilliant.

Another little tid bit is that Foundation and Rezidue technically was not a group or duo. Foundation was a part of a group called Footprints and Rezidue which was my stage name came from a group that i was in called the Skunkheads..We first recorded together as Foundation and Rezidue on an unreleased song called "Hut Hut" which was a street banger of a song. We got rave reviews for the way we sounded together and just continued recording.

Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. - A good performing artist is hard to come by, some get in the game and then they die. I have hope to give, and perform strong. Give a mental masterpiece and then go on Created an all time great cross the arms of faith and to force the blind before it's to late. So i'll make plans and keep determined, no need to find me thrown over my bedroom and overdose on bourbon. So i jump in the database and become friendly with electronics and five AM records from R&B at the techotronics. Yo west cough and steam on the chronic, ja lil pass me my wood botanic. Bring me to a mic stand but not for a speech but to shoot, lyrics hard like steel-toe boots. Those who got skills got skills, those who suck deals to get deals get the heels boogie down. - Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. - I grew up in the bronx with guards, zulus, peacemakers, fun city crew, rock steady, L-brothers, cold crushin' Nine crew this one's for you. There's a million mc's frontin' like they be original, catchin' on late, after rap went digital. NPC, S950's, compressors, this shit will be acting all nifty. Word, like they got the raw they got more studio tricks then Al B. Sure! Make me can't wait 'til I get on tour, straight flippin', my wild style rippin' thru the floor. Seem like everybody, and they moms kick rhymes. I'm loaded so I got no palms, my peoples from the bronx.. *unintelligible* - Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. Boogie down got the flavour that you love to hear, throw yo hands up in the air cuz' we up in here. Outro. - - Yo from Sweden! I love this song. Been vibin to it all summer and couldn't find any lyrcis for it anywhere. So I decided to take a couple minutes and write them myself! Hit me up in the comments if u can fill in something i missed and I'll correct em straight up. Bless!

Man I grew up in the wrong state (AZ), and I can't even imagine what it would have been like living in NYC at this time (90's). I considered myself "underground", but really just liked all the east coast hip hop that was on Yo! MTV Raps and BET, anything I could get my hands/ears on. If I could find a Tape Kingz or Stretch & Bobbito mix tape at a local shop or through a mail order pamphlet, I was golden. However, the hip hop world seems to have been so saturated with this style at that time, and I'm wondering if it got old to some people. I can see why groups like Company Flow developed, sort of as a response to this jazz sample-infused hip hop.
