I built a house here in Croatia and they DID NOT do any waterproofing on the house where the bed rooms that go out to a tiled concrete terrace meet and now I've got water damage on the inside of the bedrooms. It's not black mold yet but the moister is about 25%. I'm thinking it would it make sense to rip out the external tiles put the water proofing on and then re-tile. What do you think?

How can this waterproofing be done after the fact. Eg, the house is above ground but the garage entry is on but the back end of the garage..backs up to dirt. when it rins, water trickles down and seeps out the garage wall. Can I apply this waterproofing directly on the wall & wall seams and keep garage dry ? thx

It can be done after the fact. Excavate around the foundation leaving a 3-foot wide trench. Pressure wash the foundation getting it perfectly clean. Use epoxy or ???? or ???? - I can give you options on a phone-coaching call - to patch any cracks. Then hire a company as you see here to spray on true waterproofing. Be sure as you're doing all this work to install a foundation drain tile. Read ALL of my past columns about this. Is this answer worthy of two beers? From my experience, as long as the floor is 8" above the footing there would be no need to worry about that point where the wall meets the footing. As long as the waterproofing/ Dampproofing reaches the bottom of the wall it should be adequate for most situations.

I would agree with you ONLY if there was excellent drain tile that exited to daylight downslope from the house, if the house had WATERPROOFING, not worthless damp-proofing, and if the washed gravel was put in and PROTECTED as I show here: www.askthebuilder.com/foundation-drain-tile-installation/ Finally, in dense-clay soils as are common in a vast majority of the USA, any basement or crawlspace that's dug into the ground like an in-ground swimming pool will fill with water even if they employ your method. @Ask the Builder yes, I'm assuming that proper drain tile is being installed alongside the waterproofing, which is part of the building code where I work
