I stopped subbing and watching live disc golf early last year after being driven crazy by the slow play. If you ask me, the slow play, on top of terrible commentary, keeps me away from live and paying money. I like watching Gannon Bhur play but not live, not for a second. Even post, if they don't do the edits well I will skip ahead just out of being frustrated and not even watch them on post. Watching players like Gannon makes me turn off live coverage. When your top player makes people not want to watch, you have an issue with the pace of play. PS: Great show and cast tongiht!

Watching live vs watching Jomez is like having a DVR. You can either pay to watch commercials, or you can skip them and also not have to pay. Remind me again why anyone would choose option A? Post production Disc Golf is much more watchable, and also free. Anything else is garbage at the moment.

I’ve only heard about it but for increasing spectators something like the Dodge City with a few disc golf ‘carnival games’ like bullseye putting, hitting a swinging basket, throws with a tech disc, a mini putting course etc. something to do for the casual fans.

Emily and Eliezra is the up and coming FPO players to dominate the the game in the coming years. I think Eliezra deserves more credit than she got from the past weekend. She was amazing out on the course. She also beat the pros.

A little late for the comments as I’m just watching this, but on the topic of discussion of a 27-hole layout. I think that’s bas-ackward quite frankly. I really wish they did what they used to do back in the day, with the Final 3, Final 4, and the last round was Climo and the rest of the leaders. Granted this beautiful sport has grown since then and we have more competitors, a final-4 just doesn’t work. As of late, we’ve seen multiple people come from a feature card to win the tournament on the last round. Make it a Sweet 16 round for the final round. Keep making player cuts after each day whether you start with 150 people or even 200 people. Even if it has to be a round of 32 people left to play on the final round and it was a matter of some people making cash, while other people are competing for the win, the entire gameplay will be faster and makes being in the final round really special and meaningful. Just a thought.

Quick comment pertaining to the 1st question: I strongly believe that Eliezra can be the future of the FPO. She's young, very talented and a natural at the sport, is the FPO distance comp winner and can control her distance (but needs a lot of practice and that will come in time). Has an awesome spin putt in which she can generate C1 edge distance w/ an awkward stance easily. The sky is the limit for her... imo

It would be nice it they just did Player of the Year on points like the PGA tour. This way it's not subjective and is actually based on the players' performance. The who is player of the year conversation is so overdone. Instead of player of the year why don't we find a player who is marketable and has a dynamic personality that can grow recognition.

The change to Euro hole 16 exemplifies why disc golf is in such a stagnant state of growth. Way too many dumb decisions are being made across the board as an entirety. It's sad to see, being a sport I grew up with and adore so much, but hopefully it can at least remain a niche hole in the wall and not dissipate completely before corporate greed and idiots making poor decisions ruin it.

OK I have a major issue here, the first topic talking about if someone has the ability to compete at the elite level with the best..... NO ONE ON HERE IS ELITE. Yeah kind of annoying of dgpt/dgn to have so many commercial breaks. I get it that they have it when the players are walking up to their discs, but sometimes a player is going to putt and poff commercial break. Next time we see the player he/she´s on the next hole. I agree with the commentators, the European commentators seems more professional and in the game. Nate Doss for example only feels like he´s bragging about what he knows is gonna happen and not. Maybe hire someone from the usual golf sports marketing team and build up the audience. The Worlds: combine the top 5 hardest courses on tour, USA/Euro and make it a 5 days event with 2-3 different courses that have all the shots and elevations. If they can´t get good signal in the wooded courses then it´s not worth seeing and paying for. Worlds should also be ppv

could not agree more with brodie about the commentary. i do not pay for dgn.anymore. i had it for a year and found myself still watching jomez because i could not stand to listen to non relevant players talk about every thing except the actual play on the course. there is also a definite bias for some players.

+1 Brodie on ‘blow it up’ redesign of the business model almost entirely. DGPT commentary is ok, which sucks for being that old and the guys being OGs or at least Philo. But, these are like most traditional low energy / too chill PGA commentators for normies, that might watch and not mind the lame commentary, but that’s a lame strategy for getting new people watching energized and excited and interested anyhow… So I too, like watching all the slow, in between shit of the live full play often, but commentary is week and will absolutely watch jomez soon as it comes out. Mainly because somehow, Jerm and Uli find a middle ground to chill PGA style commentator and a bit silly / real talk cracking jokes. They got it pretty dialed in, and is good dynamic. For the website, they need to invest in a digital marketing specialists that isn’t just talking shit and taking money, and is legit OG IT nerd that also does web presence and website UX. The site is modern looking but OG shit clunky, and like Brodie said again, way to too many clicks to get to shit. Needs UX redesign baaaaad.

Or some shit. But now thinking about it… So rappers are starting to kick the label / distribution system even more, and use NFTs to fund album sales. There’s also strategies for NFTs gain access to mastermind groups. First low number NFTs minted get highest access. People can stay in highest level access long as they like, then resell the NFT thus passing the access to person that purchases NFT. Crazy part is, original NFT creator gets small percentage residuals off ALL FUTURE SALES, and sometimes sell gets kick backs as NFT is sold further. #futuremoney.

There would have to be breaks between the rounds though (like 3 days of play, 1 day off, 3 play, 1 off, 4 play) otherwise someone might get injured because tiredness and fatigue would lead to sloppy form. Disc golf throw is a very explosive one, all the energy is concentrated in a small time frame, and once tired people would start muscling their throws which could quickly lead to wrong moves and injury.

First off Jake knows nothing about business! Really, a concert that's the stupidest idea. Secondly, disc golf is too boring to watch. As someone who plays that but watches regular golf it has no excitement. There's no drama, no rivalries, and overall minimal entertainment. Sports have always grown when you've had a top tier in your face attitude athlete like Serena, Tiger, or Jordan. Drop all the everyone is best friends, speak your mind, and give us some stories of why to watch. I mean look at pickleball and the sponsors they have gotten and have surpassed disc golf in less than a year.

The broadcasting staff the DGN has is horrible in quality as a whole and just the entire flow of watching disc golf could be better. But when you're forced to pay you get what you get. and Dustin is wrong DGN isn't really that free with pdga membership. you get 1 round of live coverage. They already show 1st round live coverage on youtube to begin with. The whole model makes no sense.
