Some additional notes for Temur Malcolm: - Niv-Mizzet was added for value + additional win con with Curiosity type effects, which work well with Malcolm by themselves anyways. Niv is pretty easy to cast in this deck as well. - Sudden Demise was added as a tech card against the staxxy meta I (rightly so) predicted, and did a good amount of work. I don't remember how he won, but killstars had a t2 win into rebell's interactionless najeela naus, playm's sisay, and Kazu's blue farm. The list is able to swap between being stax and proactive pretty well

Love these top 4’s!! . . . . . . Hate all these stax decks 😭 it’s like they only work well when other people are doing the same thing, and when people aren’t, they punt so much. Probably an unpopular opinion 🤷

I don't know if I agree, a competent pilot can easily play in a diverse pod. However more of them do help. The same can and should be said for turbo naus and other greedy strategies. I have repeatedly found they actually perform quite poorly in metas without a high density of low interaction decks

@@ComedIanMTG Well said! Each archetype certainly has unfavorable and favorable match ups, which I think makes for an enjoyable overall meta state. Perhaps my opinion is slightly jaded just due to personal preference in play style and what type of games I find the most exciting. Also won’t deny that it could totally just be incompetent piloting on my end with stax 😂

Man, my Winota deck pretty much cannot afford to play the Kiki line in my meta, which is pretty heavy on spot removal. The fact I'm not threatening to combo off on my Winota is what keeps her around d long enough for me to hit some big beaters.

Though I agree winota is goood, the reason she appears to be stronger than what she is , is because from the games I play against her, nobody is running boardwipes. They just run cyclonic rift and that’s it. Black decks aren’t ruining toxic deluge because they don’t want to spend life so they have no answer for winota. It’s actually frustrating seeing the meta being all about brrrrrrr at all costs and people not running these important sweepers considering how creature the based the meta has become

Banlists exist to bring balance to that pool. If she is banned in 1v1 then clearly she'll be op in your stupid 1v1 but not "1v1" format, dipshlt.

I feel like Winota is similar to Kriik or Urza in that it’s actually really hard to play them casually since the deck just kinda breaks itself.
