Can't say that 100%, they could be building on the story of the doll. Like the origional family in the first movie could ha e gotten the doll for their son because they had the same name and then their son was starting to be taken over and killed a girl, then they locked him up behind the walls and once they found out about breaking the rules, they started keeping them until the events of the movie. Remember writers only really have to give the details that progress the story and for the first movie it was establishing about the boy behind the walls and why they had to follow the rules

Maybe a prequel about young psychotic brahams and his relationship with his parents , behavior and the little girl . All the dynamics , signs and events that lead up to brahams living in the basement. Maybe even years later as he started growing into a man. And the parents having to deal with it. THAT would have been nice to watch.

Yes. It would be interesting to see what caused this situation. In Brahms we have mystery which is revealed to be parents keeping adult son inside walls of house while pretending he's doll as they want to both protect world from himself and himself from charges after murder. We don't know what made him murder that girl or what made parents hide it like that as it's very unusual situation

It kinda did explain that, since the doll is older than the man in the walls it explains that the man was possessed and right before he dies he fixes the doll so the evil spirit can go back inside it. This makes so much sense and tbh it seems like a good explanation behind why a 10 year old would kill a girl of about his age but the reason behind why the man in the walls story would not be entertaining is due to the fact that he was possessed at an incredibly young age.

I found the first one quite interesting because of the twist, the fact that the doll was just a doll and there was no supernatural thing as one was like expecting, and as far as I remembered, in the first one the doll was very much broken (at the end) and there was no evil thing inside it. What they could have done, I suppose, is to have killed Brahms the human and have like his soul or something merge with the doll so now in the sequel the doll has a reason for being supernatural instead of the "history" they given him

How the movies should have went: In The Boy, the first one, Brahms should have succeeded in killing the lady (I forgot her name sorry lol) who was watching him. However, her death should have been a sacrifice that tied his spirit to the doll, so in the second movie, the supernatural powers the doll seems to have would have made sense. And in the second movie when the doll is destroyed, it could make sense that Jude was taken over as he was possessed by the doll and it lays dormant inside of him. And if there is a part 3, it could be about a new family who finds a doll whom Jude successfully killed his parents and tied his spirit to, and the prophecy continues with a new child. Again this is just an idea I made up that would make the series cooler in my opinion, and FoundFlix if you're reading this I'm a huge fan keep up the great content!

I feel like for the second movie they could've gone for a mental health type scenario where the mom through her trauma would see the doll as possessed when the doll truly wasn't but was all because of a type of schizophrenia she is developing where Jude starts to create a alternate personality while dealing with with his trauma or something like that, this would keep the paranormal jump scares like Hollywood wanted while also keeping the continuity from the original, we could even have the human Brahms around messing with the family wanting to be part of the family in some sort of weird way

My theory is that Brahms was just an unnamed doll to the heelshires. And that the doll was possessed all a long and made the real Brahms the way he was. The psycho murderer. The heelshires actually got it for Brahms and when he was locked away in the walls and separated from the doll, the doll took hold of Brahms and that’s what we see in the first movie

The first movie never flat out said the guy in the Wall controlled the Doll. It’s just based off of context clues that we assumed he did. Remember in part 2 we had multiple clues; including the newspapers that quote the kids saying the doll told them to do it. Hint hint going back to part 1, that tells us Brahms was always telling human Brahms to commit all these horrendous crimes. Resulting in him being hidden away behind the walls so he wont get convicted for these crimes. Argue below if i have some plot holes, but im pretty sure it all adds up.

Honestly I loved the first film and the twist it took, possessed doll concepts tend to bore me and the twist in the first movie wasn't generic to me. When I saw this second one in theatres I genuinely didn't think they'd go the possession route after they teased it in the first one. Where I thought the plot was gonna go was that Brahms (the human) was still alive and had made adjustements to the doll, like mechanical insides so he could turn the head, move the eyes, have it walk etc. I also thought the movie was going to go in the direction of Brahms wanting a prodigee in a sense and since Jude looked similar/was a convenient kid present, that he was gonna raise him in a way and give him the mask. Jude even started dressing like Brahms (the doll, which the doll to me was meant to resemble Brahms the human) so that fed into the idea of the whole prodigee thing. If they would've went that route I think it would have had nice ties with the first one, as Brahms seemed to of wanted a family. Very disappointed with the sequel and wish they wouldn't of back-peddaled or added unnecessary 'twists' to it. There were a lot of routes they could've gone and 'oh the doll was possessed the entire time actually!' seems the cheapest, laziest route to me personally. I also wish they would have explained more on what happened to human Brahms. They very and I mean VERY briefly mentioned he committed suicide?? Or seemed to? I'm still fuzzy on that. For having been a shining star in the first movie you think they would of given him a little more acknowledgement. Oh well, I just imagine this movie is its own thing honestly to keep the first movie unique lol

Based on an actual study the boy 2 makes sense. Having a evil spirit corrupt kids makes sense based on an actual study done with marshmallows. I actually enjoyed the first movie. As a horror and thriller lover, I was intrigued by this movie. Usually I can already guess what’s going to happen, but the twist at the end really surprised me and that’s what I loved about it. Hearing what you say about the second one makes me extremely disappointed that they just turned this into a possession thing which there’s already 1000 other movies like that. A few years ago, in the Ending Explained of "The Boy", I made a comment about how they could have made the nanny kill Brahms, the child, who was alive the whole time and she was actually imagining him to be a doll. It would have explained his parents' initial behavior of talking to him, and how they were weirded out by her calling him a doll, the fact that the doll appeared to move on its own and why food went missing. Brahms would be a mute child who lived the real horror of getting killed by his insane nanny. Then I saw this title, and thought they actually saw my idea! ...They did not.
