Founding Dixie Chicks Member Killed in Car Crash

The founding member of the Dixie Chicks who are now known as The Chicks, has passed away at the age of 65 years old following a car crash in Texas. Our hearts and prayers are going out to Laura Lynch's family, friends and The Chicks camp during this difficult time.

Oh wow! Such sad news in what is supposed to be a joyful time. I never knew there was a Dixie Chicks without the modern day ones. A beautiful lady! Please everybody just be patient and careful driving. If you are late, great, because at least you got there without hurting yourself or others. My prayers go out to her family and friends.

I was unaware that there even was another Dixie Chick prior to the current lineup. I kinda feel like I've missed out on such a huge part of this band. And i even more so find myself wondering why she isn't/ wasn't in the current lineup. She has such a perfect voice. No rasp, just pure angelic tone. Prayers being sent up and to her family and friends. And also to the other driver whom no doubt is suffering in knowing that another life was lost as the result of this horrible accident.

Laura was really the 1 who got the group together before finding their own sound with Natalie taking her place, and it definitely shows on their first 3 albums, especially “Thank Heavens For Dale Evans”; she knew they were going for the big time despite their initially bluegrass/traditional country music & their wrongfully addressed cartoonish looks, which is no laughing matter to me 🎼 🎵 🎼 👍 💯 Rest in Peace Laura 🪦

I am not at all familiar with the Dixie Chicks and their music catalog of artistry ...but was devastatingly heartbroken to read about the founding member passing away due to a carelessly wreck less driver speeding and crashing head on into an innocent driver and he walks away uninjured while another family is preparing funeral arrangements what an awful collision it must of been i😭😭😭i am immensely sorry for innocent soul perishing away ❤s

She was a great talent. More than most will ever know. I liked Dixie Chicks music post-Natalie, but I absolutely loved Lara’s singing and the original ensemble. It’s not as popular or mainstream, but it was still great music. If you’ve heard the albums, you know what I mean. She deserved a better end to her life than what she got. She was happy about leaving the band, and I’m glad for that. But her death is too tragic to adequately explain.
