It’s absolutely incredible to me we live in a era where we not only get to hear these guys stories, but we have the opportunity to ask them questions… It’s just amazing. 10/10 Team House. 💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸

While many go through life without ever encountering absolute heroes, some of us have had the pleasure of knowing the gods that walk among men. Wade was, is, and always will be a true warrior that made many men and women who they are today. It is an honor to call him a friend.

Thank you Wade, Jack and Dave!! This was one of the most humble, understated, and impactful conversations yet! This one is bookmarked on the other side of Dave’s conversation with Uriah Popp. So much inspiration for service and commitment comes through. Y’all are a serious bulwark to the erosion of the American Spirit. Thank you for your continued service to us all.

General Takemoto was my elementary school principal. My dad was in ROTC at the University of Hawaii because they paid a little stipend. Due to the Korean War he didn’t even graduate but they commissioned him and sent him off to war. Men like Takemoto, Ishimoto, my dad and his buddies are all very accomplished but humble gentlemen.

This man is a GD LEGEND. This interview barely scratches the surface, but that’s not the fault of interviewers; only so much you can cover in a 90 minute podcast. Not everyone who appears on this podcast is always legit, but this man is the real deal and then some; a true humble professional, and a GD hero.

Can’t wait to read the book. This is invaluable to have an old school intel guy on the show. Awesome work guys. Somebody mentioned Eric Haney previously, that would be another good interview. Haney’s book (and Beckwith’s) really set the stage for young men who wanted more info beyond Vietnam and read about SOG/LRRPs, pre-internet days.

This was a Cold War thing where senior NCOs would hold reserve commissions. They didn’t serve in the officer rank unless there was a war. I haven’t heard of this happening since the 80s.
@l4c3905 күн бұрын
@@timscherrer9924 I still had one of these guys in my unit in the mid 90s, but they were mostly gone by 2000, and eliminated by Army policy officially after that. When I came on active duty in the late 80's there were still decent number of senior NCO's who had been officers in Vietnam. They kept their reserve commissions and retired at the commissioned rank. My division CSM was a USAR LTC, and I heard that one of the other CSMs in the division was an O6.

SGM Eric Haney was an original member of Delta and would have gone on that Laos rescue mission. I remember in his book "Inside Delta Force" that he stated there were POW's left behind and he was pissed the rescue mission was scrubbed. I wonder if he still believes there were POW's there. I'm glad you pressed Wade about this potential mission. He made his opinion clear.

Do they have a copyright on it? It's a general term, that may very well have originated with ships, but the intent of it can be universal. Stop gatekeeping and looking for things to be outraged about.

Great interview with an amazing patriot. Pouring drinks, unwrapping, lighting cigars and playing on the computer is distracting and rude during an interview like this. At least make it look like you're interested in participating in the interview.
@GasGrower6 күн бұрын
Didn't know the term 'plankholder' was also an Army term. If Wade was born around 1941, that means he went through selection at or around 36-37 years old. What a beast!!!
