Foundry - Self-Sufficient Vein Mining Outpost [E10]

We complete many research items to get the best mining in the game. We discover distant ore veins and set up an autonomous base with solar panels, batteries and a transport ship to get the Telluxite ore back to the base. Its a big project and the video is a little longer than usual. Just for fun, we also process the Firmarlite Bars into Fermarlite Sheets.

You, sir, have been hard at work. I just researched drone platforms last night so I have not used them yet. Underground mining looks a lot better than it did in the early days of this game. Before you had to automate rails so you could feed the system and it would move along. Now I am curious to see if the ore intake from the mining slows down or not. That was a serious problem before, as the rail line got longer the ore came back slower. Good episode.👍👍

Thanks. I will keep you updated. It looks like the output is stable at 160/m for now. I'm not sure how long that will last. Looks like fracking makes it permanent.

You don’t meet to dig a hole to pass power. The human elevator carries es high voltage power and you can tap into it at each level. Then just dynamite your way to each vein at a given level and string high voltage power to each miner. The vein or miners don’t even need a loader so you don’t need a transformer or platforms at the miners. You do need a single small transformer for the loaders that load your freight elevator.

Suddenly my plans of putting everything on a mainbus seems too small. I’m thinking new specialized bases for science/robots built off of isolated ore vein transport bases flying in supplies. I’ll keep my original base for the mall.

@@surtrplays so after your last episode where you set up a remote mining facility with solar my mind blew up. I’ve abandoned the main bus as it could never keep up. Now I’ve gone for remote facilities producing items. First one was the hydraulic units. Currently building a cpu one

Took me ages to work out the ore veins and underground mining lol. Try and get a couple more transport ships. 1 pad with the 4 ships gets bottleneck with the station repair and building modular buildings. Also bottlenecks the firmalite income

Are the ore veins limited or permanent?

There is a core. When you reach the core, output will stop. But, by that time you will have researched fracking. Add a fracking machine and the ore is unlimited.

Watched some Foundry plays, no haste for me to play it, several other similar ones doing production lines in a survival setting I rather do. In general cartoonish look puts me off, even my 6 year old gamer rig have no issues handling good graphics.

I was also initially put off by the style but it has grown on me. Reminds me a bit of minecraft and timberborne, neither of which really appealed to me, but the gameplay is quite fun in this one.
