Glad you enjoyed it. I 100% agree that it’s very Sandersonian (is that a word?). One of the few things I recommend people as a 1 to 1 “if you like Sanderson you will like this”.

Nice! I would be interested in your thoughts on book 2 if you continue. I really liked book 1. Book 2 is a soft dnf at 50% but I want to continue. But I don’t. 😵‍💫

This was a dnf for me .. characters were very flat and i didn't care at all about them

I found the characters weaker than you did. Several of the side characters had similar voices as you said, but I found several characters doing things that felt out of character for them, and not in a way that made them feel complex, but rather just plot convenient. I also found the love/romance subplot to be extremely spontaneous, not in that it happened at all, but in the degree of emotions between two people who were otherwise quite standoffish. I could perhaps justify it for one of the characters for plot reasons, but I just can't for the other.
