Fountain pump quick fix. Re-purpose, Re-use

Here I just fix a water fountain pump that I picked up for a dollar at a local thrift store. These things are actually kind of pricey starting at around 20$ so for a buck it was worth grabbing to see if I could repair it. Re-purpose and save is always good for the environment :) Thanks for watching :)

Thank you!! It inspired me to mess with my small fountain pump and I got it to work!! Some little piece broke off that was inhibiting the impeller but now it works like a champ! Saved me $30+

Thank you for posting this! I’m embarrassed to say we go through an $80 pump every season. ☹️. I’ve searched what I thought was every video until I found yours. I thought “ what the heck? It’s worthless to me now so if I ruin it, no big loss. Who knew?! We only take it apart when it’s broken so we don’t know how it should work when it’s not! I did exactly what you recommended and voila! It works! I wish I had seen this 4-5 pumps ago. 😞

Thank you so much! My indoor water pond fountain is now working!!! I have the same exact one from a vintage copper fountain. The propeller would stop in water and start outside of water. The loud noise also went away. Again, thanks! Great video!

Thank you for the fix. I was going to make a hummingbird birdbath and remembered I had an old desk top water feature, that the pump had stopped working years ago. Checked it out and I had the same problem, impeller turned until I placed in it water and then the load caused it to slip on the shaft. Thank you for sharing the simple fix. It worked great!

Thanks - good advice and I will try it. Tip for you: Pick up a cleanser called Barkeep's Friend for a couple or few bucks and try it on your sink and that stainless will be shining like new in no time. Tip for tip!!!

thanks , I'm going to try this tomorrow. I had a tabletop fountain working well for about 3 months and then the pump just stopped working and I have no idea why or how to fix it but thanks to you I have a good place to start. thanks again!

There's too much waste in our world and A lot of thing don't need to be thrown out when just a little ingenuity can add a little more life to things. :) I should mention crazy glue may degrade with time but gorrila glue like the crazy glue will last longer. Thank you for posting info. I have a 2-tier water tower garden fountain ⛲ with a DC Brushless 6v pump wired to the top gadget, that holds 4- D batteries, that it Stopped operating. It wasn't issues w/wire or battery. I soaked pump with vinegar, then with CLR product, bought new batteries, Nothing. I was about to buy a 6" circular solar Water pump to place on top 1st tier 🤔I didn't know that you can separate the side slash grille of the pump gadget and look inside, and so I did, and saw tiny hair, dirt stuck around the little impeller wheel. Bingo. Fix🤣

Oh my gosh! Thank you for putting this up. It's perfect. Exactly what I have been looking for. I found a beautiful tabletop fountain at Goodwill. It moved a little water through the circuit, but then started leaking, a lot. I am going to try to rebuild the thing. I don't have the expertise you obviously have, but I am going to try.

I'm only using it in clean tap water for a couple project so that's not an issue. When they are in fountains they need to be cleaned regularly for sure.
