Cat Water Fountain pump fix

The pump stopped working in 3 months. I checked the adaptor for output voltage and the pump for continuity, they both are OK. Then I disassembled the pump, cleaned the deposits with a toothbrush, and the calk (on the rotor) with the backside of the knife. Assembled the pump in reverse order. The cats are happy and I hope you too, dear viewer because you can do it for 15 min!

Dude you’re an absolute life saver!! I “clean” the pump by soaking it in hot soapy water and gave it a good rinse, plugged it in and it just stopped working. Tried this and instantly fixed it! Thank you so much!! Was worried I’d have to buy another pump again, my cat is gonna be so happy :)

Man where were you months ago when I had to replace my old fountain when the pump stopped working? You just saved me the trouble/extra cash of buying another fountain. I was worried I'd bust the pump trying to take that front plate off because of how stuck it was on mine but now I know how to clean these properly. A key point to clean is the bottom of the hole were the magnetic impeler sit ,with a Q tip or hard think stick so you can free off the calcium and some time parts of the foam filter than stop the impeller from working! and deposit in the base of the impeler hole .

Thanks! It worked! I removed both front and back covers to remove the gunk but did not think of removing the impellers. It worked immediately after that!

I think I ran ours's low on water, I took it apart like you said. I see the circle thing is clean but i scrapped it a little bit anyway . the motor was locked up. so i turned the shaft with a needle nose pliers, put the fan and assembly back in then. see it was still stuck decided to try it at that point. "nothin", but helped it along with a small screwdriver, (" I think", I used) to get it turning with it pugged in, it didn't take off at first but a few seconds later I kept helping it turn hoping I was going the correct direction, It started working/turning/ spinning the way it normally turned. I don't recall what direction it turned. I called my wife who was shopping for a new one. She said she was at the cash register with a new one that would of cost $30 bucks. I said we no longer need it! Yeah Success thks

This fix worked for me... Pump was BRAND NEW, 1 day old and stopped working. Took it apart, cleaned what was already clean and re-assembled and bam ! Works again. My pump was actually the newer model, HB-200. Thanks :)

I’ve had my flower water fountain. Fir over a year w/ no issues the. One day the pump just stopped working so I took it in and cleaned it well with a toothbrush and it still didn’t work, I know where we live we have pretty hard water so I decided to just try it and I sprayed CLR (calcium,lime& rust it’s comes i. A big green bottle& you can find it at Walmart & even the dollar store instead of buying the original in silver bottle that costs over $10 &this stuff is a few bucks& works even better IMO) so anyway I srayed it all down & even inside waited a few minutes and all the hard water washed away so rinsed it very good&boom!! the pump is like brand new!!!!!

Try running a solution of vinegar and water through the pump periodically to dissolve the hard water deposits. About 15 minutes and then run clean water through for several minutes to rinse well. I do this with my pumps between dismantling and it seems to help.
