Four Against Darkness 19: The Sneering Sewers

More notes: -To keep track of if you have raged, you could put a note on the map such as: Rage _, then when you use it, mark it off. -You didn’t roll to see if any of the possessed dwarves would attack again. -As you see on the FF Treasure Table, a 0 gives no treasure. So, my rule of “0 in a corridor is nothing” has something to lean on. -I couldn’t find anything in the book about spells being ranged attacks, so I’d also say no. I think ranged attacks are only bows and slings. Apparently there’s also a throwing stick under crushing missile weapons, but I don’t know if you can simply take that instead of a sling. -For the dragon breath, I would have rolled the damage once and applied the same amount to each character that failed the save. So, maybe roll for damage first, then roll for the saves? -Potions of Healing fully heal one character. Can be used at any game as a free action. P. 86 with the Wandering Alchemist. -I don’t think you could stack Protect on one character, although I don’t see a rule in the book about not doing that. -When I play, if a boss/weird monster has multiple attacks, I assume they are attacking multiple characters. P. 53 says “Each monster MUST attack a different character.” If there were only 2 minions, you’d attack 2 characters. One boss with 2 attacks should still attack 2 characters. (I would choose the characters with the most health or with highest defense.) -If you turn a corridor into a room, then everyone could attack melee. Combat would not be as restricted. -With the enchanted paint you could create a rope for tying up monsters, create bandages, new armor or weapons, or a new lantern. Helpful if you run into invisible gremlins. -You didn’t treat the goatmen as level 8 in the first round of combat in room 13.

Thank you Eric :) I've had a readthrough of Four Against the Abyss. I'll probably do a flipthrough video next before actually running it. I'm very excited about some of the new rules and features there. I'm definitely going to have to get more organized and stop trying to just wing it, and make sure to take my time.

Played a game today and Jimmu and Alodia both leveled up. My team is ready for the Abyss! (Which should be arriving Saturday.)

@@liamperrin Got the book yesterday. Probably will play Tuesday. One thing I know already is that a couple of the creatures have a reaction-help, that's simply the same as "Offer food and rest" on p. 23 of the core rules.

@@liamperrinI have the majority but not all of these titles. The only way I stopped myself was by limiting myself to the books that were for 4AD only. Still have 50+ books though 😖
