I like the atmosphere 4AD creates. It does genuinely feel like an game of 80s BECMI D&D, dungeon crawl. The Fortress of the Warlord is my personal favourite adventure, as it includes a large outdoor exploration.

These card expansions are really well done. I was never much a fan of 4 Against Darkness, but these Card Packs might be just what I was looking for. Great overview of the card packs, thanks for the video.

Insta buy! Thx for the vids! I was scared that it will be repetitive because of the small number of cards, but it seems to push forward the theme of the adventure without having to much random stuff out of theme! Really love the color art on those card and Big Boss! Curse of Castle Reivenstein is not available for now in printed option. Suppose to be back by the end of June! Really love the dice on the card for random roll!

Great video, thanks! 👍😁 I’ve seen these cards, but haven’t looked into them. I didn’t like 4AD, because I didn’t find it detailed/varied enough. But now, having played more games solo, I know I can simply add the things I felt were missing. And I’ve come to REALLY appreciate games that are quick and easy to get started. So I’ll definitely give 4AD another try, and adding these cards seems like a great addition!

The thing with 4AD is that if you think it's missing something, there's an expansion that has it. The game really does have whatever you want, you just have to get it.

I suppose you could mix up the cards each time, but personally, I just flip the next card from the deck. :) Alternatively, you could instead use the d12 method to play -- lay the 12 cards out in order and roll a d12 each time to determine the next card.

Mixing them each time keeps all cards in play for possible draws. Sometimes you need that.

It looks like these cards fix an issue I've been having after a few dungeons in 4AD: due to how 2d6 work, almost all of my content rolls are minion encounters, I've been thinking about using a d12 instead, but cards could work too

You want lots of minions for more level up rolls, to a certain point.

I'm getting into 4aD, so I'm thinking of getting the core book and the cards. Should I go that route or get the core and a couple of the expansion books?
