I'm in PA and just bought a tiny concord grapevine starter shoot....we have wild grapevines here by the woods that do VERY well here so I thought I'd try my own. And my mother just told me her mother's father grew his own grapes too! I'm learning so much through these videos! Thank you David and MCE.

Hello this is good video, I started planting three grape plants in a trellis I did myself, they are 3 years old. Can you please help with following questions: 1. Does the four-arm Kniffen (four branches) will stayed permanently in the main tree or in the future I will need to cut them and replace it with another? 2. Does this method works in a trellis?

Do you think it would be better to put the wires higher? Say 4 feet and 7 feet? Seems that would help prevent winter injury

Hi - I am growing 5 rows of pretty tight spaced vines in my backyard in southern california - I kind of "designed" this system in my head as an experiment as I dont have enough vine or row spacing to run a decent vsp/single wire setup - found out today its called the FAK - will this work for shiraz and cab/sav? I want to run 2 sets of vsp of a main trunk split 4 ways like this except in a vsp/vertical fashion.. all going upwards (or could the reds grow hanging too?).. thanks!

I live in western Maine and have purchased a piece of land that has multiple unknown grapevines on them. I am also putting in an arbor with a 2 or 3 year old Reliance grape from Fedco and a I year old Somerset vine that I picked up this spring from a store. With the unknown grapevines I have set up a four arm Kniffin system. I have two questions. First can you use a cordon arm system with the Kniffin
