Wow I feel like you just cut your hair not long ago and it’s so long now! I do these too on blown out hair and love the results. I usually start with a twist , I’m not great doing the knots and getting them to hold. They’re usually dangling in my bonnet when I wake up 😆

For the most length I would say blow drying but if that isn’t a big deal I don’t see why you can’t do it on air dried stretched hair.
