got mine used and it's pretty great, just very short riding time but fast charging makes up for it. I can't imagine going faster on this thing honestly. I'm a longboarder but used to my 60 inch gravity board and haven't ridden a small board in a while so going fast on this thing is scary compared to how stable my normal board is

check out my video on how to make the meepo carve like a boosted board, it makes it much more stable and confidence inspiring at high speeds
@th34st3 жыл бұрын
@@sagesends definitely will check it out. I feel like with some tweaks this board can be pretty great. I definitely gotta upgrade the battery tho and before I buy Meepo's battery I'm looking into making my own battery pack with a bunch of lithium ion batteries in parallel. Only issue is making sure it fits in the enclosure and if it would even get me close the the extra range Meepo's battery extends it to. But yeah if I can get it carving nice the wheels are decent enough to use, board is a little more stiff than I like but still doesn't feel terrible, and if I can get the range to at least 20 miles vs the about 11 I get now I'd be happy

It's super easy, just 6 nuts around the battery housing (can be taken off with skate tool) and then the battery just slides right out and unplugs with a standard connector. Probably takes 2 minutes total.

also i wanted to ask, would you recommend the 100mm wheels or keep the 95 or 90s that come with it stock? just want to get the most power and best range im a tall dude weight about 220 pounds over 6ft tall.... what should i do to help? im thinking throwing in the heavy bushings in the rear so i can lean to the rear to avoid speed wobbles.. also im loving that sanding think u did u reviel the true beauty of the board, that will be the first think i do with a block sander, im just typing i didnt listen but what grain sandpaper should i shoot for, is 600 or 800 too rough or should i look at like a 1500 or 2000 grit? lemme know what you used, i appreciate it.. also im thinking about throwing a surf skate front setup to the board to it will have a super tight turning radius and surf and weave down pathes... whachu think will that throw the board all out of whack? take care and have a great day, -peter joseph
@sagesends5 жыл бұрын
Use a low grit, 150-220. anything above that will clog up the sandpaper and you won't get anywhere. Wood doesn't need a high grit to be smooth, not like metal or plastic. I would recommend heavy bushings on rear and yellow on front, but tighten them down a lot. Maybe even buy the 100A bushings that come on the NLS pro. I would definitely recommend buying the 100mm wheels as they make the board a lot more comfortable. I did just that, and will be making a video about it soon.

@indigo_wolf35742 жыл бұрын
The cruise control isn't meant for customers, it's what Meepo uses when testing & breaking in the product prior to shipping. That's why it's throttle position not speed based. When Meepo uses the cruise control, the boards are on a bench without the wheels touch the ground. Meepo warns about this because if you engage cruise control going up hill, the board will LAUNCH when the terrain flattens. The same will happen if you engage the Cruise Control on flat terrain and you hit a downhill.
@sagesends2 жыл бұрын
The boards don't really have enough power to launch, so to say. The cruise control is super handy, and a little "cru" icon pops up on the screen, indicating cruise control. If it was soley for testing why would they add that icon? What proof do you have that what you say is true?
@indigo_wolf35742 жыл бұрын
@@sagesends I was relaying the message I got from Sandra at Meepo Customer service. She did not use the word "launch"... my hyperbole. However, the effect would be similar to moderate acceleration without knowing the direction setting and being braced for the wrong direction of travel. The "cru" indicator is their because they aren't going to build two separate remotes for CS & public. The Hurricane manual fails to document direction change & cruise control. The latter seems to be an intentional omission.

Besides speed & battery range how would the v3 compare to a boosted ?
@sagesends4 жыл бұрын
less flexy deck, similar carving ability. Similarly reliable (have 1800 miles on meepo now, still going strong). Since it has hub motors it's a more bumpy ride but that's an issue of hub motors vs belt drive and not meepo vs boosted
@JohnnieV4 жыл бұрын
@@sagesends ok. So belt drive is smoother ride. I am learning. I have never rode a board. Seriously contemplating the v3 meepo and now this less smooth because of hub motors. I like the look of hub motors. Seems less to break without a belt??

Hub motors are more reliable, quieter, and easier to roll if you run out of battery. That's the trade off.
