I attended Kevin's Pop Up Shop yesterday at "The Lift" in Alexandria, VA. Seeing, holding and feeling each of these boots and trying on any of the Ready-Made models was a phenomenal experience. For me it was the DMV's Mini Boot Camp. 😃 Kevin had numerous swatches of the leathers and colorways one can choose for ordering a Made-To-Order boot - and I mean numerous! In my humble opinion, Caswell Bootmakers is one step below bespoke and heads above the rest!

Whoa….this brand was not on my radar. I love the selection of leathers. IMO a lot of brands are leaning too heavily into the waxed rough out boots or ramblers these days and it’s hard to find interesting leathers with a nice shine to them.

@@JRRob3wn for me the Caswell Wayne Last in 11.5D feels just like the Grant Stone Leo last in 11D. My Truman’s in 11D are my best fitting boot and fit like a glove. The Caswell and Grant Stone fit me snuggly through the heel and quarters with just enough room to move a bit. I could wear thick socks with them but I’m not sure I could with my Truman’s. I don’t have any Parkhurst yet. Check out Chalkboard Shoes review on his Lisbon II boots for another for perspective.

His GMTOs are leather heel counter. He's transparent about which models are leatherboard counters and which ones aren't.

He chose leatherboard for the heel counter of the RTW Spain line due to 1) it’s durability as for everyday wear and tear leatherboard is extremely durable as leather but has more flexibility and a lighter weight. For the average person there is no /need/ for a full leather heel counter and leatherboard in 80% of situations will be more than durable. There are Alden’s and RW’s w leatherboard that are decades old. 2) yeah the cost, they allow for very durable counter material while also keeping the RTW Spanish line at a reasonable cost w our compromising quality 3) the leatherboard he uses is called like salpia and it’s pretty high quality stuff Now, His more premium and heavy duty Indonesian handwelted line (and soon to be US line) use full leather counters that are very nice and sturdy with a lot of UMPH to them hahaha

Most factories won’t do leather counters. There might be others but factory Grant Stone gets there boots from is the only one I’m aware of that does. This does not include companies that make boots in house like the PNW brands and Viberg.

Hey does that shaw predator boot has the shape similar to whites semi dress ? I love the look of the whites semi but it cost to much .

Hi Dale , is there big diffrence in D compare to B width ? I usually wear D but I have chance to buy B width shoes but I am not sure how big of difference is it. The shoes are Allen edmonds 65 last.

I bought the Caswell Olive Chromexcel boots and had to return them. Went true to my brannock size and they were so big that prior to returning them I jokingly wore two thick socks and placed a leather insole just to make them fit. I am not sure how this happened. Also, the pictures showed a stacked leather heal but the version I received has a rubber heal. Overall my only experience with Caswell was disappointing but the return was super easy and Kevin was extremely nice and helpful.

Sizing is always tricky! Nobody has figured it out yet haha! I can say my 9D Lisbon boots are a perfect fit but I can tell if I were to try a more generous fitting last I’d want to go down that half size

I also bought the olive CXL boots, but found them true to my brannock size. I love mine, and am sorry to hear you didn't have the same great experience I did with such an amazing company with such a super owner. My third pair of Caswell boots are coming Monday!

My Olive CXL Lisbon II’s are true to size along with the 4 other pairs or Lisbon and Lisbon II boots I’ve got. You got the Ridgeway sole with your boots and that is a solid rubber sole and heel. It’s the only sole that Caswell has sold that’s been like that.
