I really liked the way you explained your reasoning and processing for doing things - like how you made the chart, how you made it, and your thought process as you painted the birds and the adjustments you made. I'd like to get into paintings, so it's nice to hear the thoughts someone more experienced with it was having as you discovered a new palette. Makes things feel a bit less intimidating. Thank you!

Thanks, Faith, I am glad my commentary was helpful. Ever since I had covid, I have frequent bouts of brain fog and when trying to record commentary, I always wonder if how I am explaining things in a way that makes sense--my judgement can be really "off". Thanks for letting me know that I did okay this time🙂. Let me know if there are any other topics in art that you are interested in that would help you start your journey. 👍

@@hdubsart1462 No problem! I'm not familiar with how to use paints, but that's more down to me needing to sit down and practice with some. I'm sure more of this would make more sense with some experience, you just made it really approachable. It felt like a natural dialogue for you, which really helped the approachability of it! And thank you! I struggle with ADHD and anxiety, so executive disfunction can make it really hard for me to get started with and just DO things, and my anxiety can make it a negative feedback loop. This helped cut into that fear a lot. I'll keep your offer in mind. For now, I don't have any questions that I feel my brain will actually take in, but I'll do my best to remember this in the future! Thank you so much! :D

@@justanawkwardnerd my heart goes out to you! I struggle with anxiety, also. I hope you start with some kind of art because it is so therapeutic. Simplest way to start: watercolor set, brushes, paper. Just make swatches. Everycolor. All the colors. Then swatch color mixes. Focus on the beauty of the colors and how they swirl when mixed with water or each other. Keep it real simple with no pressure to make any images. You got this! Let me know if you try it (even if it is months from now). I am cheering for you💗👍

Were you intentionally using the gouache like watercolour, by using more water to mix the colours? Your pics are super cute btw 💗💗

I like the consistency a bit more when mixed with some water--it doesn't show the brush strokes so much. I don't know about other brands, but Holbein seems to retain its opacity even with a bit of water, it's really pleasant to work with with some flow

I would say...enough water to make it the consistency of creamer that you would put in coffee, maybe a tad thicker.
