My goodness, I haven't heard this Ian and Sylvia song in well over 55 years. It takes me back to a time when folk music was what we were listening to. It brought tears to my eyes, and that is a hard thing for a 74 year old man to deal with. It's hard to type, when it feels like I am looking through an aquarium. Lovely, just lovely.

Over the years I've heard several Canadian songwriters say that until they first heard "Four Strong Winds" they didn't realize that people wrote songs about Canada. So I thank this song not just for Ian Tyson and Sylvia Fricker, but for James Keelaghan and the McGarrigle sisters and David Francey and Stan and Garnet Rogers and Marie-Lynn Hammond and more brilliant singer-songwriters than I can list at the moment.

This song originally written & sung by Ian & Sylvia effected me greatly as a teen in the 60’s. It’s words were so romantic to me. It's a privilege to experience the maturity of such a great artist. What a loving, solemn tribute to a great Ian and Sylvia song. I've seen you in concert, but this level of experiencing your feeling about a song is humbling. Thanks for inviting us into your home. BTW. I also grew up in NJ and I saw that same sad train you noted in Stones on the Road. I was 17 and stood by myself oddly. It seemed like more than just a train heading away into the distance. So much lost and so much to bring forth.
