I haven't heard this beautiful song in years. In fact I got a taxi this morning and it was on the radio. I knew by the singers voice that it had to have been Neil Young. I said to the cabbie "Man I haven't heard that song in years" He said to me "It's Four strong Winds" So Folks as soon as I got home again I started to look for it. And Found this amazing live version. It's such a joy to listen to it made me cry because of this songs beauty. It's been so long since a song has moved me to tears and it was a wonderful experience. Emmylou Harris is absolutely in this, she is the "blonde singer" on the left. The other "blonde singer" on the right is Pegi, his wife at the time. They got divorced in 2015. This performance is from 2005. I can't think of any other performance where he was flanked by Emmylou and Pegi, this was kind of a one off for the film "Neil Young: Heart of Gold", so no, he hasn't been with them forever.

Neil always sings to my soul. I saw him live in Madison, WI, January 2019. His voice is as good as ever and his new song, "Green is Blue," haunts me.

This reminds me of my father. He’s a huge fan of Neil Young and he likes this song because it was a hit when he took an extended holiday in Canada and America. This was a hit when he was in Canada and it played a lot on the radio. The lyrics reminded him of his mother and father who had both just died.

Agree!! The ensemble of musicians is just beautiful. Does anyone know who the female BV singing harmonies on his left is? She is wonderful!! ELH is on his right, but she her voice is very soft.

Got it! His late wife Peggy. She blends so well with him, even though he often sings off key...have heard he does it deliberately just to shock the listener and make a new sound. :)

Heard an interview with Ian Tyson. If I recall, this song came to him easily, less than an hour, and he was writing about a relationship he had with a First Nations girl. It's a heartbreaker for sure!

Don't forget Ian Tyson, who wrote this great song, and once-wife Sylvia, who with him recorded it first, so that Neil could play this over and over again on a jukebox in LA in the late 1960s.

It is thrilling and almost overwhelming to see and hear all these EXCELLENT musicians, a "Tour de Force," gracing one stage. The beautiful, moving song they perform, "4 Strong Winds," really touches the heart, and every musician is 100% into the song and the perfect performance of it.
