I'm doing ok on the others though, especially strength as I've been lifting consistently since August last year untill this corona virus thing happened, now I do bodyweight exercises and I try to build my mental strength by doing something uncomfortable every day which I haven't been consistent with.

Dopamine is a reward hormone & short acting agent in the brain. A lot of it released through instant gratificatuion, pleasure-chasing behaviour. I'd say it reasonates more with a Lover than a King - the Lover is essentially chasing after the never ending pleasure land. Serotonin on the other hand is mainly responsible for mood stability and keeping you upbeat about life, it also makes you more resilient mentally and confident in the face of uncertanity - hence the anti-anxiety & anti-depression properties. It is a long acting agent and unlike dopamine, it isn't released in 'bursts'; it is a much more stable neurochemical than dopamine.

@@shadyeighty1 That's a good point, but i think a healthy, balanced Lover is not a "dopamine junkie" and keeps mood and happiness stable. I associate dopamine with King mostly because it's necessary for motivation and decision making, so it's like it "orders" and "rewards" the brain. But of course its just a mind exercise, you can't make perfect connections ;)

All of these characteristics come to oneself naturally once we give ourselves to the will of god , but one thing you realise once you do it is that it's not as easy as it sounds , and that's where the character development begins , you fail to execute the will of god that's withing you,but you keep trying again and again until you master all of the obstacles and demons that come your way , and you do this because that's what a satisfactory life is about it doesn't mean that you'll be happy forever after all of a sudden when you accomplish this, BUT it will mean that you'll be able to go to sleep at night feeling satisfied, and knowing that you've done all you can this day to execute gods will successfully, that's what being a MAN is about , thats what life should mean for men. Thank you elliot for your videos ❤

Speaking of 4. I think about The Revelation, where the angels are holding back the 4 winds of strife. I think this points back to Job; where his house collapsed because 4 winds struck the corners of his house and it fell in, killing everyone inside. The angels holding back the four winds; to me, is symbolic of Gods mercy. He doesnt allow every storm to turn into the perfect storm, as satan would like.

If you want to read about the significance of the number 4 I highly recommend a book called 'The Language of Creation: Cosmic Symbolism in Genesis'. In it the author discusses in much greater depth than I can here how 4 tends to be a symbol of 'space' or stability, order, rationality, logic and linear development in contrast to 'time' which is usually cyclical and a representation of transformation. I'd have to write a 2000 word comment to make it make any sense but yeah I really recommend the book if you're interested in Christian symbolism.

Elliot, I've been listening to you for about 10 years now. I think it might be of utility for us to explore our 4 quadrants (king, warrior, magician, lover) in tandem with the quadrants we experience throughout the day (morning, afternoon, evening night). I find that being a king in the morning and sitting as a rock for my early hours to be very insightful. The same goes for the afternoon, when I tap into my warrior side to attack my work. In the evening I like to read and ponder like a magician. In the night.. well you know..

For me the number 4 makes a lot of sense in the context of character analysis. I've had major impacts by really applying insights mdi, a character analysis that comes from the DISG Modell, which when, alike king warrior magician lover, comes from jungian theories. Alike is also the Brian Tracy power communication. I pulled the connection to the neurotransmitters too, there is also testing on psychology based on that to tell you bout your character. (Braverman test) Interestingly Charles poliquin and Chris thibideau have designed training guidelines specific to those. I myself have found these 4 quadrant models really helpful in understanding myself and others and predicting their actions.

Wouldn't it be best if we followed our passions while we are young and failed on our own since most people learn by doing and action and therefore failures?

Yo Elliott. I am constantly thinking about how I can demand or command respect from the people around me. Especially from the people who I live with at home and work with at my job because I can't escape them. How do I react properly if a coworker talks to or treats me in a disrespectful way and what should I do, if that person doesn't stop after telling him/her to stop? I tend to be too nice to the point that I don't react or even comply, when people cross my boundaries. It also seems to me that it is almost impossible to gain respect back, if a person has already lost it for you. It's like a battle of power with some people.
@1622-p2t

maybe look more into how to stand up for yourself. I struggle with the same thing. You can also visualize the situation thats causing you problems. Imagine what they say and how you could best respond. You can practice in your head and in a theater type way when your alone. Or you could even have a close friend play the other person and you practice standing up for yourself. Good luck.

@@1622-p2t Hey man, this is what I would suggest. That you accept that these people are assholes and that you are going to have a tough time integrating yourself regardless. If you are in an environment that is extremely hierarchical and the people in it are constantly power tripping, the best option in my opinion is to do whatever you can to save your money and get out of there. The reason I say this is because some people and some organizations just have people who's personalities are troubling. No matter how kind or rational you are, they will always put their social status first and walk all over you. So what I would say is that you work and bite the bullet for as long as you have to to save up money, move out and start life on your own. Your entire mind will also change as you do this. Although it will become stressful and you will likely have anxiety, that is the trade-off you need to make in order to start developing the skills that we all define as what makes us "men". It is leaving a place that is no good for you and pursuing the life you want, on your own.

I think this is a profound perspective. I am a Christian and i believe in the significance of numbers. I guess thats why God has a book called numbers. Anyway. 4 represents Balance. 4legged animal has better balance than one with one two or 3. Just a generic example. Always thought of myself as more of a King but lately i see the other 3tempermets showing up more and the growth jn all four helps me balance out. Dope video man

Yo Elliot I have a question for you. When i was a teenager, i made my circle of friends around videogames. I still like to play once in a while, but i get the feeling that im the only one that has evolved. I am now more focused on getting better, getting stronger, learning every day, reading, etc. But my friends are still in that stage of videogames only. I know you have talked of this subject before, and you answer is "get away from people that don´t contribute to your life" but, if i do that, i would have around 0 friends to hang out sometimes. Please i would aprecciate if you consider this. Long time fan.

What do you think about fighting ? Can a male be alpha if he can't fight ? What if a male has a look of an alpha bald,beard,tattoos,muscular and the attitude of an alpha but can't fight ? If someone knows how to fight and slaps him in front of everyone his status will go down quickly from alpha to beta. Please elaborate.

Hi Elliot, what role do artists (painters, sculptors, writers, musicians etc.) have in the world of strong men?
@xTheVictor
@xTheVictor 4 жыл бұрын
I'll take the liberty to try and explain: Based on the four archetypes (King, Warrior, Lover, Magician) The artist is most strongly connected with the Lover and the Magician. While all four archetypes exist in man's psyche Often our careers focus on one of these elements (the one we are most closely connected to). For example, manager=king, police officer= warrior, scientist=magician, musician=lover. However, for the sake of a balanced life, and an integrated fulness of being, it is a good idea for the warrior to practice painting, or for the musician to practice competitive sports. Society needs artists, we need art, music and literature to fill the world, and these can be absolutely extremely strong men, take for example the famous writer Hemingway. Being strong doesn't always mean taking up the sword. It can mean taking up the pencil or the spatula. A world of strong men is also a world of artists.
@aidancleary1081
@aidancleary1081 4 жыл бұрын
@@xTheVictor That's a good way to look at it - that effort to achieve balance is important and I think doing something that taps into each archetype is a good foundation towards being a strong man. I would argue that the example of Hemingway, while undoubtedly a strong, larger than life figure, is skewed given his self destructive lifestyle that ended in a suicide. I still very much appreciate your input and the points you've made.

The four virtues go back farther than the early Christian church. The ancient Stoics had essentially the same four: Wisdom, Courage, Temperance, and Justice.
