Why do people selling RVs always say, "and this is YOUR blah blah blah". It isn't mine. It is a feature for a perceived need. It is a THE furnace, window, door, fan, etc on and on... I would love to have a Ram3500 with a FWC on the back. Sell the dream without sounding like just another RV dealer selling junk trailers that rot out in two years.

Curious about how the durability of the flexible fabric part. If someone is living full time in that -- a few days or weeks in one spot and then off to another, is that fabric stuff going to last? I love these things. Cheers!

Nice setup. My dream rig is a log bed Tacoma with a nicely equipped FourWH Fleet with the front dinette. These can be pretty expensive campers when you load them up with options, but when you consider how well built and rugged they are, and all the great features you can get in such a compact package, it's not too bad of a price. FourWH makes the best popup campers, in my opinion.

NIce but I do not like the pop up part itself. I think the push up of the top may be a problem for some such as me. I have an 80s Sun LIte that is cranked up with not much effort for me and I'm 65. Pushing up the top would be difficult for me due to a weak left arm. Further the vinyl sides look cheap and the windows even cheaper and way too small to enjoy any views compared to my Sun Lite. The windows on the Sun Lite is almost 3 times that size. Back in the day, the front opening on the pop up was designated as an emergency exit. I don't see how you can get out if the door is not accessible due to fire or what ever. Lastly the cost of one of these is totally off the chart for what I see here in this video
@SirWilliamGoes
@SirWilliamGoes 5 жыл бұрын
The top is really easy and assisted with gas struts. I think that crank would be faulty after just a few off-road trips make it filled with gunk, if it didn't stop working completely it would probably be pretty difficult. I felt the same about the material until I saw it in person, I assure you it's a heavy duty material. There was an old model in for repair at the factory that a tree fell on and the first think I looked at was the top which was still good. The side windows are emergency windows that do what your talking about as well as slide vs crank for easier access. I think the prices are in line, after all it's 100% full welded aluminum frame construction vs wood. That all being said there are others out there if this one doesn't meet your preference.
@dannyixoye262
@dannyixoye262 5 жыл бұрын
@@SirWilliamGoes Thank you for getting back to me. From what you said about gunk in the crank up, I don't think you understand how some of the older pop ups were made. The Sun Lite, who is no longer in business, had the crank inside the camper just below the front bunk on the wall. My pop up is 37 yrs old and there is no problem with it going up and down on the crank track. I think if any gunk got in it it would be because I was driving with the top up with all the windows open. What you must be thinking of are those that had the crank placed on a corner outside of the camper and ya I would agree with you there. I like the fact that yours is built with aluminum framing but mine is not that heavy dry with a heater, frig stove top, sink, and a water tank that I don't use plus some storage cabinets. It has about an 8ft. floor and I currently use it on my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, 6 1/2 foot bed with tailgate down with the only mod of putting on Timbren bump stops on the rear to help with squat and the OEM coil springs are not overloaded and still dampen the ride. My truck however is not set up for hard trail adventures. If it were I would set it up for that but I'm not doing hard trail adventures with it, just light trail adventures. As far as the windows, my emergency exit is at the front and easily zips open and it's large enough that I can get out quickly and then roll out, meaning getting out, on the top of the truck, hood then the ground. On the one you have, I can't go out the front but rather the sides, which look small to get out of and would have to roll out with nothing softening my way to the ground. And the helper struts to lift the top, I think those will need to be replace long before my crank and it is already 37 yrs a head. =) Plus, I think the struts are just a cheap way to raise the top. That is why you find them on many vehicle hoods today, that and the use of a pole support, instead of the spring coils that used to be standard in the car/truck industry. Anyway I'm not really knocking the camper I just think that part of it's construction material is more on the cheaper side. Hey I would like to ask though if when you use the heater on cold days or nights does condensation build up on the vinyl walls and ceilings? Mine only builds up on the ceiling on the top bunk, when I forget to vent the area, but not on the sides because the sides are canvas inside and vinyl type material outside... Enjoy your adventures!!! and be safe out there..
@SirWilliamGoes

@@SirWilliamGoes Putting an ARE MX topper on my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation for some 4 day weekend expeditions until I retire in about 2-3 years, then it's a Hawk for me! @@SirWilliamGoes Great minds think alike, apparently!! It's just me and my Blue Pitty, and with the width of the bed in the new Sierra, I can sleep widthwise, so a 38" wide bed will sit on the wheel wells and I'll have over 3' of length left for all my "stuff". I lived in my tipi for 3 years at 9200' in the Colorado Rockies, so spending 4-day weekends in the bed of a truck in warmer climes will be a breeze; although at 66 years old, what used to be a breeze is sometimes gale force winds, but we'll persevere!
