I'm Danish, back in the early nineties, I was raised in a place with many Muslims. It was mostly these kids and young teenagers, that made all the problems, not Asian or other foreigner, almost always middle east Muslims. It couldn't be addressed back then, or people were called racist. I saw how small boys called white girls and women hores because they didn't wear a scarf. Many got welfare benefits, with no demands, just because they didn't want to learn the language, they got in the front line back then for public housing. Today rules have been stricken alot, the problem is, that now Danish citizens are affected by these rules, if a Danish person go abroad and work for more than a year. When they come home, they are now in the same category as refugees if they apply for welfare benefits, or if they find a partner outside Europe, its hard to get a permits. Just because we opened up for Middle East Muslims, that has created many problems and some of them behave like hyenas Everyone that immigrates or flees to another country, should obey and fit into that country's laws and culture, if not they should go back. If they want to practice Islam in the country they are staying, they should be within the house. No mosque, no special request or demands.

As an iraqi american who has lived in the UAE, i can tell you that the west is more generous and tolerant of immigrants than any of the gulf countries. in the gulf countries like KSA or the UAE, they treat anyone who isn’t of there kind like an alien, especially south asian people, regardless of religion. you will never be able to obtain citizenship in any of these countries, and the treatment of locals to immigrants is VERY unfair. I understand why people immigrate to the west but i heavily disagree with the Muslims demanding changes in the constitutions to fit the standards, like if you’re a guest in a country, it’s important to respect their culture or just go somewhere you respect.

I worked in Saudi for a few years, in the oil and gas industry. Saudi Arabia couldn't survive without expat workers. It's that simple. But it's made completely clear that you are there to do a job. You do your job, you get paid, you go home. Our Chief Clerk was a Pakistani guy. He'd been there 30 years. His wife was with him. He had an apartment. Three of his four kids had been born there. But when he retired, he went home to Pakistan and so did his family. Call me an old fascist, but I don't see anything wrong with that.

There are horrendous KZbin videos on how young women from Africa doing domestic work were abused and some murdered in Saudi. Their passports are taken at the outset and they are virtually slaves. Yes maybe we need something in the middle of how Saudi Arabia operates and how the west does. The slave like treatment is shocking but so is the abuse of the welfare system in the west by illegal immigrants…and it brings so much resentment from the decent hardworking indigenous population who pay for this through their taxes.

And I don't need to rely on KZbin, i've been there, worked there and lived there. I've spoken to young people in sub-Saharan Africa and warned them what it's like in the Gulf countries. They typically shrug and say "Yes, but I need the money". My original point that if we genuinely needed workers, this could adequately be addressed by use of temporary work permits stands. And I agree that it would certainly calm the fears of indigenous workers in western countries. The simple fact is that it's not about a "labour shortage" but about artificially importing a conflict into western countries.

While working in Poland as a temporary foreign worker, I made friends with Polish Nationals easily. They are wonderful folks. The subject of immigration came up and they were saying that everyone thinks that Poland is anti-immigrant, this is how they described it. Anyone is welcome to move to Poland as long as they do a few things. 1) learn some Polish, you don’t have to be fluent but you do have to communicate with your neighbours. 2) get a job and keep it, don’t be a burden to the state but earn your own keep, 3) obey the laws of the land, not the laws where you came from but the laws of Poland, and 4) make some attempt to get along, respect others and they will respect you. There are immigrants in Poland, however the government is not nearly as generous with all the free handouts as other European nations. This would probably explain why they don’t seem to have anywhere near the frequency of violent interactions with migrant groups. Sure there are racists and bigots like everywhere, but the majority of the Poles I knew were fine with the ones that did these things.

My ex husband is Muslim. When I met him he drank, smoked enjoyed the theatre, loved a night out. We married and slowly over the years he became very religious was no fun. Did not want me going out. Got lazy and was sending money home but lying how much and in the end did not want any responsibility for the mortgage. The marriage lasted 20 years which was a miracle. I know some do integrate properly but on the whole their family at home and religion come before the family you made.

Formerly we had migration within Europe. As the migrants were Christians, they had mostly to adapt their language to the new homeland. After a few generations, just the family name gave a hint of where the family came from. But Muslims have Imams from foreign countries like Turkey or Arabia, who are foreign to Europe and want to protect the believers from the influence of European culture they do not know. So there is only little adaption of Muslim culture to the Christian one. I had a teacher who was a Roman Catholic priest and knew eleven languages. So he even spoke Arab and knew the Quran. But few of the Imams speak German or know the Bible which is forbidden in some Arab countries. As long as Muslim spiritual leaders are against European culture, Muslims will remain outsiders in Europe.

I don’t understand. The United States, UK, France, Germany, etc are terrible for calls to limit/regulate immigration. However, countries such as China, Japan, and the Gulf States are allowed to have extremely strict immigration policies and prefer high skilled immigrants… make it make sense. There is some truth in it. But the author very much tried to be politically correct, as is a trend in today's politics. Why scared to talk about the elephant in the room? I'm not here to blame the author, but we need more brave people than cowards who may tell us about what's right in front of us.

Nope. 1. Even in Germany, there were many and enough workers, one fourth of our people were expelled from their hometowns in the East and driven to western parts of Germany as eastern provinces were occupied by enemy forces. 2. USA forced turkish immigrants upon us, then called "guest workers", since 1961. Strange "guests", I feel. They refuse to go home as a decent guest would want to.

European values are made up of Judea and Christian values, which teaches all are created in the image of God. It also teaches people to love your neighbours as your self etc. This has led people to give for charity, and open doors to others. But the Islamic teachings are not of the same values, its teachings are opposite. So they don’t integrate as their religion beliefs are different.
