Harvey Mason has always been one of my favorite drummers. That hi hat and snare combo is in the pocket 💯💯

Larry Carlton is a cool genius. Love that guitar tone.
@dennylibertario2246 Жыл бұрын
They don't call him Mr. 335 for nothing. That is what crystal clear Gibson humbucker pickups and hollow body sound resonance can do for guitar players with chops.....it sounds sweet, doesn't it?

The Dumble helped too.

@@Donfleebie1 This was back 20 some years ago, don't think digital signal boxes and pro-works kind of amp modeling had really come into their own. I would doubt that Larry Carlton would have relied on gimmicks to accentuate his sound, particularly outdoor sound.
@Donfleebie1 Жыл бұрын
@@mikewolski3804 He didn’t have too resort to gimmicks, and I never said he did. I just said that the Dumble Amplifier, he’s clearly using here, contributes to the amazing sound of Mr. 335.

@@Donfleebie1 I wouldn't be able to know whether someone is playing thru a Fender, a Marshall, a Vox, a Plexi, an Orange, a Hiwatt, Mesa Boogie or whatever. My ear is not that attuned to the acoustic nuances of Carlton's equipment especially when that sound is then pumped through a P.A. System at an outdoor arena or stage across from Newport Harbor. You have better ears than mine.

When I was on a stage and played music for the audience, it became a burden for me since I had to avoid mistakes. After seeing this video I felt jealous because they could enjoy the music they played, as if they were playing music for themselves.

Four play was best when Lee Ritenour was with them. I also like with Chuck Loeb. But I never like the style of Larry Carlton. He doesn’t play smooth as compared to Lee and Chuck.
