I graduated high school in 2000. Due to an insurance settlement from a car wreck injury when i was 5, i had money to pick my first car. My dad had a 64 chevelle ss 327 in high school and my uncle/dad's older brother had a 68 GTO with a reputation that hurt lots of feelings. So growing up hearing all those CRAZY stories from the late 60s early 70s i had to have a legit muscle car. Decided a 67 chevelle looked the best to me so after almost 2 years of searching i got a 67 true super sport with a fresh 396 from texas = no rust. Car wasn't perfect but very solid new interior and reliably driveable. Got a good deal cause the guy was moving. Takes patience and time to pull the trigger on a worthy deal. Still have it. My dad's chevelle now he's had 35 years is a 68 true SS factory 4 speed 468 cubic inch borderline race yet steet-able motor my uncle built. It sounds scarier than this mustang but the stang does sound really sweet though. Respect and props to this young guy. He's enjoying himself! I'm happy, he is happy.

Guy at race track I think 21 yrs old had probably a 79 Camaro he took out the 305 and the automatic put in a 4-speed with 350 it only ran 16's in a quarter-mile but it was fun to watch he smoked the tires halfway down the quarter-mile track. He wasn't one of those kids to sit at home playing video games. He loved cars. His uncle told him help yourself to my car parts pile. I thought he said he took the pedals out of a Chevy truck.

I used to think the best muscle cars were show cars with great paint jobs, no rust, numbers matching, etc. but as I get older, muscle cars like this with unfinished paint, a little rust, a little beaten up, but great engines and brakes are what I’ve fallen in love with.
