I graduated high school in 2000. Due to an insurance settlement from a car wreck injury when i was 5, i had money to pick my first car. My dad had a 64 chevelle ss 327 in high school and my uncle/dad's older brother had a 68 GTO with a reputation that hurt lots of feelings. So growing up hearing all those CRAZY stories from the late 60s early 70s i had to have a legit muscle car. Decided a 67 chevelle looked the best to me so after almost 2 years of searching i got a 67 true super sport with a fresh 396 from texas = no rust. Car wasn't perfect but very solid new interior and reliably driveable. Got a good deal cause the guy was moving. Takes patience and time to pull the trigger on a worthy deal. Still have it. My dad's chevelle now he's had 35 years is a 68 true SS factory 4 speed 468 cubic inch borderline race yet steet-able motor my uncle built. It sounds scarier than this mustang but the stang does sound really sweet though. Respect and props to this young guy. He's enjoying himself! I'm happy, he is happy.

Obviously the classics have more character and there's something to be said for the people who put the time in to keep em on the road. But electric cars are fun, comfortable, and easy to daily drive. Apples to oranges when you think about it.

I gotta say, I love this car! It is a perfect build for a young kid (actually, for car guys of any age), no expensive fancy paint to worry about, nice solid dependable motor, has a great look and a blast to drive. So nice to see young guys into American muscle. Of course, now that I know your heritage you're probably not the typical SoCal kid these days. I'd like to see you do a road trip in the car. Guy at race track I think 21 yrs old had probably a 79 Camaro he took out the 305 and the automatic put in a 4-speed with 350 it only ran 16's in a quarter-mile but it was fun to watch he smoked the tires halfway down the quarter-mile track. He wasn't one of those kids to sit at home playing video games. He loved cars. His uncle told him help yourself to my car parts pile. I thought he said he took the pedals out of a Chevy truck.

Too bad all the cool people like us don't live centrally and can't get together to kick it and enjoy our own rides. Your mustang looks cool in a road racer way ' great exhaust note' and the acceleration is awesome 👍.I dont want to say this 'but I advise not going quick in built up areas like that'you can never know if someone 'maybe a kid chasing a ball runs out in front of you' or someone steps out or whatever' it could be a life changing event. Save it for less populated areas and avoid strife. 🙂👍

What a treat, thank you for reminding me of why I am such a vintage car lover!!! Thank heaven for the internal combustion engine and all the beautiful fast fun they gave us. In Toronto, way back, Hwy. 401 was deserted on Sunday nights after midnight so the men could really open it up and see what these machines were capable of and see what kind of handling they had at high speeds. Wow this brings back such great memories my first car was a 66 Mustang Coupe just like yours 289 hi-po with a bigger cam Holley 4-barrel headers T-10 four-speed 9 inch Detroit Locker rear only got to drive it twice. But the sound of that engine being slammed into the seat every time you shifted was the experience I'll never forget. Watching your video puts me back in the seat of that car. You have an awesome ride there my friend I promise you that memory of that car will stay with you the rest of your life. Take good care of her don't beat her up. 🇺🇸😋

why did you only drive it twice?

@@bofa83 hey; I only drove it twice because I took it to auto shop at school To build up the motor. The next day at shop someone stole the heads, carb, intake then dragged the body to the middle of the field and beat it with sledgehammers. I had my suspicion who did it but couldn't confirm it. But the second time I drove it I outrun The cops. That was the only time I ever did that 🤪 thanks for asking.

Nice car. We all had those type of key chains back in the 70's and 80's. Very cool.

Awwwww....... Music to my ears!!!! That is SO awesome!!!! Back in 1984-1986 I used to drive my dad's 1965 Mustang. I loved (LOVED) that car. Though it was ALL stock. Well, except for the 15's in the back. He had 14's in the front. He only paid $200 for it in 1980 (?). He bought it from some lady. I forget what color it was at first. But my dad sanded it, primed it and painted it "Black and White" like a police car. LOL. In the mid or late 1990's, my dad gave it to my niece..... I was sad. Then she let her boyfriend drive it.....and he Wrecked it!!!!!! Then I was super sad, Heart Broken. 😭😢

P. S. It was a automatic. Each time I came to a stop, I could feel the downshift into first geer. I loved that drag.

Wohoo, sounds awesome, that’s exactly how I’ve envisioned a Mustang! I love the fact that you don’t pop it into neutral but instead use the engine brake. That makes the car more stable under deceleration since the car sits lower while in gear compared to when rolling free. Kudos for the wide ovals!

My old Chevelle big block don’t have a choke either and it stumbles all over itself when cold and sounds like crap and won’t stay running but once warmed up it runs great. Your little Mustang sounds good and has some get up and go. Sounds nice.

Nothing beats a good old hand choke on an older carbureted engine. Especially after you figure out the nature of the beast! The exhaust sounds awesome! I love it

I had a 1967 in High School 289 A model block (Art Carr C-4) with mods suggested by a customer of mine I used to deliver chili powder to, I wont mention any names but his boat was named Sea Shell! The best place for stickers if you dont really want them but have some you gotta run is on your door jams. We raced off road and our pre-runner looked like a stock with tires and a mild lift but was built by Ray Currie "GSRyder" Very Trick With all the stickers for sponsor's & contingency inside the door jams, looked clean. With the doors opened it said "Racecar" (spelled backwards we all know is "racecaR").

I used to think the best muscle cars were show cars with great paint jobs, no rust, numbers matching, etc. but as I get older, muscle cars like this with unfinished paint, a little rust, a little beaten up, but great engines and brakes are what I’ve fallen in love with.
