So happy to see this video! I haven’t read Iron Flame yet so I only watched the first part of the video, but my thoughts on Fourth Wing were largely the same - fun to read if you don’t think too much about it, but overall not the best quality fantasy I’ve read.

Yes exactly!! So pleased to here some similar opinions! I'm glad I know what everyone's been talking about now but I'm also happy to be done with these books and onto reading some higher quality stories😄

I appreciate how you approached the books respectfully and kept reading even when you were mildly annoyed by them. :) I stayed away from these books because I just can't with Yarros' writing, I read a bunch of her contemporary romances and, after a couple of books, they become painfully formulaic, to the point that I could probably tell you the entire plot after reading the first few chapters. 🤦‍♀ Love your videos!

Aww thanks!!😊 haha yeah books like fourth wing and iron flame can be fun every once in a while but definitely not my top preference! I could see how Yarros's romance books would get old quickly, that's good to know.. I don't think I'll be attempting any of those😝

Hi Ana, Thanks for the review! The books were a bit strange for me... I got the first one for my 15 year old son, who loves reading about dragons (eragon, the talon saga etc). After reading the warning on the inside I decided to read it myself first, and a good thing I did (in my opinion). To me it reads like a young adult book (a combination of Drägan Duma and Divergent), but with (in my opinion) unnecessary brutal murders / deaths and graphic sex. A pity in my opinion... I had to wait for the translation of the second one. I thought I wouldn't want to read it, but I did. I liked it better than the first one, but it's just too long... (799 pages in Dutch.)

I agree with you completely! Some YA maintains a high quality and some simply feel immature and cringy. I especially don’t like it when that latter YA style is mixed with adult content - it just feels off! I don’t have kids yet but I can imagine how much effort it will be to sort through what’s age appropriate to give good recommendations to your kiddos! A never ending challenge I’m sure😅

Hi um sorry but you said Imogen wrong it's pronounced Im-a-gen I know it's not how you spell it but that's how you say it and you must say the g like it's a j and the I must sound like an e
