@@Joshua-fz5zx many people live more balanced lives than Fousey seems to manage, once he gets online anyway, with a combination of medication and therapy, like DBT. For a lot of people it can take a long time to find the right combination/dose of meds that work best for them, and then, unfortunately, even if taken perfectly as prescribed, those meds can sometimes need to be adjusted, which starts the whole cycle all over again. Some people, for whatever reason, seem to have a lot more trouble in that regard than others. Unfortunately, they’re also a lot more likely to self medicate with illicit drugs or have trouble taking their meds as prescribed, which obviously makes things harder for them to live productive lives. When having a manic episode, especially if they suffer from paranoia, they may become convinced that they’re not really ill and that the people trying to push medication on them are trying to keep them down, to shut them up, trying to stop them from exposing whatever “truth” they think they know. It really can be a very sad, frustrating life for all involved. Not to doom monger because, of course, many people can manage their condition well and lead very fulfilling lives, so a lot of what I’ve said can be considered worst case scenario!

The video was good, but the creator has absolutely no idea about mental health, also the commenter that said Fousey definitely isn’t depressed because when *they* are depressed they have no energy is the same; people just so confidently state stuff they have no idea about! I do agree with most of what that creator said about Fousey throughout the video, but 2 things can be true at the same time; I don’t, at all, think Fousey is above faking a mental health condition, the man is a pathological liar prepared to do anything for attention, but I am also 100% certain and would put everything I own on him being bipolar, or possibly having some other condition that causes manic episodes. So I believe that when he’s in a depressed state, it’s the absolute lowest low imaginable, and that’s when he’s vulnerable to actually doing the things he threatens, regardless of how unlikely his narcissist tendencies might make that seem, but when he’s manic, as we have seen from him many times, he’s utterly delusional and believes he can make absolutely anything happen, and anyone that thinks otherwise is just a hater that doesn’t believe in him or is trying to bring him down out of jealousy, or whatever else his delusional mind comes up with! Also, calling him a fake Muslim following a trend feels a bit dirty, like, I understand why one might be inclined to think that way, given Andrew Tate and Sneako’s carry on, but Fousey is a bit different, being a Palestinian Muslim who’s faith is massively entwined with the culture he was raised in; is he a *good* Muslim? Probably not, just like I’m not the perfect practising Catholic but it doesn’t change the fact I grew up in a big Irish Catholic family where it was a big part of our family identity, and I imagine it’s the same, but probably to a much greater degree, for Fousey. Fousey most likely has a lot more family pressure based on their religion than I ever had, though; I’m obviously only speculating, I don’t know him, but I do know a Kurdish Muslim immigrant and many second/third generation Pakistani Muslim people, and know the intense family expectations they live with due to what they would consider religious expectations but what, to me, are really more cultural; all this to say, he may not behave perfectly in line with the practices of Islam, but that doesn’t make him a *fake*! Jesus, this turned into an essay, I honestly would’ve never thought I had that much to say about Fousey, of all people!

58:37 So, for the record, as a mental health counselor, there are levels to therapy (voluntary/involuntary, outpatient, intensive outpatient, inpatient) and not all therapies/therapists are created equal in terms of success rates. Some people see a self-declared life coach and call it therapy, others are able work with whole teams of professionals. And frankly, some therapists and teams are incompetent. And we really can't take Fousey's word on what his diagnosis is/what prior treatment he has participated in. Suggesting that someone 'pull the plug' like Bigbunjeeeeee did here might feel cool in the moment, but if you're that ignorant about mental health, you shouldn't be giving suggestions. My suggestion (informal, I'm a clinician and I can diagnose my clients, but I haven't had any sessions with him and other clinicians might disagree): individuals with bipolar can have genuine delusions, particularly when manic, and these can look a lot like the delusions you see with schizophrenia. Fousey certainly appears to be manic, and we wouldn't necessarily see him when he's depressed, many people with bipolar isolate during a depressive phase. Fousey appears to have serious delusions (possibly exacerbated by substance abuse) and probably needs to be involuntarily committed to a program and medicated, in addition to therapy. After a few years of that he might be able to function in society, although he might not be as creative or as entertaining while on such medication. And he is rewarded for his problematic behaviors, so that could be a barrier to successful treatment.

Trying to figure out if someone has a mental disorder is very difficult, even for experts. We only see what he wants us to see. I’m sure when he is alone with no cameras things are very different. In my opinion he is probably got some mental diagnosis but, a lot of it is exaggerated to fit his agenda. I’d be very interested to see what would come from him doing a full 90 day program. I think it would be very beneficial for him. That being said it’s never going to happen.
