I have gradually picked up a number of Oxford Diecast 1:76 scale traction engines in a variety of liveries and styles. I've always thought steam road vehicles were incredible machines, but didn't want to just collect static models. The solution: run them as freight in transport. Hornby's Lowmac wagons are the perfect size for these traction engines, and the effect is excellent. The beautiful Oxford Rail Dean Goods engine is in its element here, and it makes for a great looking short train.
I need to track down a few more Lowmac wagons (hard to find here in the US!) so I can get the rest of the traction engines on the rails as well, hopefully that will be a future video :)
