Did you have a hard time removing the Yoke from the shock? I can’t unbolt the Allan screw which attaches the yoke to the shock. Wondering if you can advise

Hey Andrew. I have a question. I have a fox float rl off a 2003 cannondale jekyll. Do you air it up in lock out mode so it stays expanded and then let air out? Or just let air out and the ram sucks all the way back in?

When I deflated the shock, some oil came out with the air, are you sure there no other oil in it rather then that shock grease you had in a small tube?

In 2021 what would I be expecting to pay to have this done from a bike shop thanks.

It depends on your shock. But, say, £100 and upwards for common intermediate level shocks.

How often do you service it
@herculesmclovin4 жыл бұрын
I'm doing it for the first time on my bike that's 5 years old. It's had below medium use over the 5 years. I think it's time because the small bump sensitivity has dropped. The wiper is looking grubby and I'd imagine it has lost its elasticity and if I don't service, then crap will start getting in. The point I'm making is... It's totally your own judgement. Unless you're a pro rider then it can be before every big race... Several times a year.

Every 50 hours of riding is what I've heard.
@herculesmclovin4 жыл бұрын
@@DirectorRobb yes, or 3 months depending on what comes first. However, that's manufacturers guidelines so they get more money selling parts lol a pro racer may follow the guidelines or even more frequently depending on what races they have. It really depends on your environment, riding and fork model. For the intermediate rider and especially the beginner, it's not worth overrhinking, just common sense and learning through experience is far more important.

You forgot to replace the shaft end O-ring.

My lock out is poor only make a slight bit of difference, do you think this might help??
@herculesmclovin4 жыл бұрын
There're specific YTs for fixing lockouts... Generally it means unscrewing your lockout cap and tightening up a certain bolt or screw inside the top part.

Hi, is there any serviceable parts on the top part where all the selectors are??
@andrewschwartz_4 жыл бұрын
Yes, there's a few videos on KZbin showing you how to do that. They are not wear items though so I wouldn't really worry about those unless you know they're damaged.
