Stop bad mouthing RFK. He is going to improve the health of millions of Americans. He's going to force Big Pharma to properly test the vaccines before they jab all of our kids with them. As it is--they don't test them properly but Fauci & friends approve them anyway. For example--the proof companies give of their testing on a drug or an immunization is taken as is, as truth on the honor system. Best practices is to make them re-do portions of the testing they did & they need to re-create the same results as they claimed to get the first time to prove they didn't cheat on the testing.

Props to Emma for pointing out that host's language around autism. It sucks when they use pathologizing language around autism, seeking to eradicate us. Also, it's worth mentioning that it's really difficult to compare autistic experiences and call one person more "severely autistic" than another because of how different and individual the experiences are. I generally prefer the term "low support needs" vs "high support needs" because this captures the reality better (i.e., some autistics need more support for day to day life than others), without diminishing the experiences of either. This also aligns with the social model of disability. Anyway, thanks Emma for always bringing up the nuances in such discussions, it's really refreshing and makes me (an autistic) feel seen.

Autism is really a general term used to link a broad spectrum of conditions that have been extant much longer than the medical profession's ability to recognise and diagnose those affected. The number of people in middle age or older being diagnosed keeps going up, explaining the issues they have faced, being told they were stupid or difficult. A friend of my son is somewhere on the spectrum. He has difficulty with some simple things, he can't ride a bike due to balance problems and finds it difficult forming relationships. That said he is currently studying for a phd. Luckily he was diagnosed at a young age and has a very supporting family.

That's also the thing - when we're given an environment we're comfortable and accommodated in, which isn't all that hard, we 'function' just fine (for the most part). It's just that society doesn't want to.

GMOs are not the problem. The biggest problem we have here in America regarding diet is a complete lack of understanding of gut health, and that stems back to the healthcare issue and how incredibly expensive it is to get GI panels done. Functional medicine is almost never covered by insurance and it costs thousands of dollars out of pocket. If we had better access to these expensive tests people could actually find out what's wrong with their guts and Doctors could help people formulate a treatment plan to fix gut issues which in turn will allow their bodies to function far better.

American grains have a higher gluten content than European grains. If you feel better eating European grains, you might have a mild gluten intolerance.
@No_co_OK15 сағат бұрын
Gluten intolerance is rare and avoiding grain-based foods when you don't have gluten tolerance is not conducive to good health, specifically because the less grains you eat the more likely you are to eat animal-based foods (which are not conducive to good health). The only reason why people constantly obsess about avoiding gluten is specifically because the livestock industry puts out an enormous amount of propaganda and misinformation about gluten to increase the likelihood that people consume their animal products.
@EddieM199413 сағат бұрын
@@No_co_OK Did I say that? I'm saying that American grains contain more gluten. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a result of the different growing environment. You'd get less gluten out of a European pasta dish of the same size. If American pasta makes you feel ill, try reducing the portion size. You don't have to avoid gluten altogether if you can still eat European grains, you're just eating too much of it.

Not being discussed: there is a reason why food in America contains so many chemicals, and why "organic" food is so expensive. The Consumer Food Industry relies on economies of scale. More food is produced than can be immediately consumed. Preservatives are added to extend the shelf life. "Organic" and "natural" food spoils in a matter of days, therefore it must be sold quickly, and labelling laws set farming standards that are inherently expensive. There is a non-chemical solution, however, that RFK is, of course, blissfully unaware of. The reason why Europe does not lace its food with "dangerous chemicals" is because it is irradiated. Yep, zapped with radiation. That is why milk is not kept in refrigerators in European stores. There are Tech Bros eager to bring this system to America, and I don't have a problem with that. The question is: How will MAGA feel about "radioactive food?" They have a hard enough time with the concept of drones.

@@Aeroneus1 I remember when Michelle Obama planted an organic vegetable garden and encouraged children to eat better, but the GOP and Fox News harangued her, calling it communism. Americans have always had the option to eat whole unprocessed foods. It has always been a choice to eat well. Everything you wrote is just an over generalization. A distinction without a difference. You are parroting a bad faith comparison of a select group of products as a red herring argument which negates American choices.

In regards to food, it is true that our portions in Europe are smaller, and that the urban landscape incentivises physical activity, however, it is also true that here we have much stricter regulations in regards to the food industry. GMO's and intensive farming are much more common in the US than in Europe which in certain countries relies heavily on local production, additionally you guys have a myriad of chemicals, vaccinations and hormone-growth drugs that are outright banned in Europe, like glyphosate which causes cancer. Overall there are differences in lifestyles and quantity, true, but also in overall quality.
