Nice vid. I always leave the spring alone for a few mins to fully relax any remaining energy that might be left when lowering. Also a good idea to leave the strut when removing/installing a spring so when removing or installing, if it slips, you have somewhat a shield for the spring to hit before it flys out at you. Done this many times

Great tips. I think when I installed the springs like a decade ago I must’ve used a compressor. I was surprised at the lack of KZbin guidance for this!

@@fiveohmxco do you have to add grease in the ball joints and if you what did you use?
@fiveohmxco2 ай бұрын
@davidmoeller17 yea, I was just looking at them today thinking I still needed to do that. Can’t remember what I bought though. Got a grease gun and everythibg

Decent, at the end, i did notice the tire on backward for this side of the car, though.

You can do anything with these old cars. I mean anything.

Just about,they are super easy to work on,i can change a alternator in 5 minutes and that would be taking my time,lol A buddy at work has a new car, probably 4 years old and he asked me if i could change a bulb in it and that i would have to take major body panels off and i told him he didn't know what the hell he was talking about,well he did and i passed on the job, no thanks, ha ha ha

Thanks for this video. I’m doing these LCAs, lowering springs, caster camber plates, and a bump steer kit on my 88 GT. Do you think it makes sense to start with removing the caliper, like you did here? I watched another video that where they don’t remove the caliper and it suggested separating the spindle from the control arm with a hammer. That seems…odd, especially since I’m doing it without a lift. I’m not sure what order to go in as far as removing the old control arm.

I always get paranoid with brake lines personally (breaking them). Plus it’s only a couple bolts to get the caliper off, so unless it’s beneficial somehow to keep them on, id recommend taking them off. That’s exciting! I need caster camber plates one day!

Thanks for the video. I was needing to buy a 24mm socket or whole set. Could I get away with the short sockets or do I need deep sockets?

Hey no prob. I honestly can’t remember if you need the deep :/
