phantom hits are when the hitbox of a move becomes tangential to the hurtbox of another character. they deal half (i think) damage and have no hitstun or knockback.

For an effective D-smash from Peach, the opponent has to be crouch cancelling. Her D-smash pulls the character towards her and hits multiple times. Her phantom will only hit once.

I wouldn't bother learning the spacing for this. The margin for error with Phantom hits is 0.01 frames.

Phantom isn't effected by frames, and there isn't anything below one frame. That's the lowest unit of measurement the game is capable of. Phantom happens when hit box touches hurt box without inter lapping. It is theoretically possible to learn this, but not very realistic.

@@camcassidy4309 Late to the game, but this is theoretically impossible to learn. The combination of frames being essentially random which one you input on and the literally pixel perfect spacing needed to get phantoms makes it impossible to get even one of those hits even close to consistently.

If you’re pixel-perfect and just barely hit your opponent, they take damage, but no knock back, so jigglypuff stays asleep. Seven years too late, oh well.
