This video is tool-assisted: it was created by advancing the game one frame at a time and performing every input exactly as desired, then playing back the same input stream at 60 fps. This match was choreographed by me; both characters were controlled by me, not an AI; and there is no AI that controls a CPU similar to the way player 2 in this video acts.

(These years aren't exact...they are based on memory, I could be off by a year or 2) So what on earth makes you think Smash 5 is gonna be in development for the "Wii U 1.5" ?! If your refering to the announcement of a smash launch title, its most likely going to just a port of Smash 4...It would be unrealistic for it to be anything else!

Which situation? The end? Marth can actually SDI away the middle shine so Fox can't get behind him on the next shine. If Fox decides to shine again anyway, Marth gets hit offstage and can grab ledge.

Practically every combo in Melee is escapable in some way. That combo had really tight timings and good but not optimal DI from Marth - better DI and SDI would have gotten him out of it. In particular, I had Marth DI the first bair up and in, as a decent player would do to avoid going too far offstage. However, this meant that Fox could edge cancel the bair, double jump, and hit Marth with another bair. No human player would be able to pull that off, so it's partially a matter of the Fox hitting the perfect move at perfect timings and partially Marth being human that the combo worked the way it did.

Nah, usually these things are down to "the one with inputs processed first (within a frame) wins", unless there are random factors within the game, where the lucky one wins. But usually it gets awfully repetitive.

Sometimes that's how it works, but often things are processed simultaneously (ie hitboxes coming out on the same frame will clank if they connect). 2 perfect bots would probably not be very viewer friendly.
