No explanation for Fire Fox? I think it's a reference to how the Arwing burns up with a trail of fire when it gets shot down.
@TheRealZXXZ6 жыл бұрын
apparently 643D has referenced the Fire Fox in its multiplayer as a new power up where you can tackle enemies with your ships it's named after Falco's Fire Bird as well
@MSKFan157 жыл бұрын
I was thinking for Fire Fox. Knowing of what Slippy said on 7:50, it probably contributed to Fox, knowing the arwing can take temperatures, so can Fox.

A couple of other things I noticed are that: 1. If you've ever seen multiplayer in Star Fox: Assault and taken a look at the blaster fire, it's pace is incredibly fast at times, which is likely where SSBB Fox got it from, and... 2. Notice the Arwing as Fox gets out of it in the starting animation. Its wings are open, which is a sign that Fox was buzzing around near the stage before the battle, possible combating another threat. Great video! I look forward to seeing more! :)

Come to think of it, the shape of the blue special effect ceneted at the barrel when firing the shots in Brawl's Landmaster, the blue form that appears briefly (not the shot itself) looks a lot like an Arwing.

i also noticed that the barrel roll in ssbb uses the wings boosters to roll rather than the boosters under the treads like in star fox 64. which is most likely due to star fox assault.

I was about to point this out too, but good call. I'd like to add that his Up-B move could also be based on Japanese mythology. Kitsune are associated with fire and a will-o'-the-wisp is said to hold a portion of their magical power.
@ArchSageDragonlord14 жыл бұрын
since it wasn't mentioned in the video and i see people asking how fox's b up relates to his games here's my guess. i think it comes from when fox is in his arwing and he loses all of his health the arwing catches on fire and then explodes when it crashes. since fox goes helpless after the move it's like when he loses all of his health he is "helpless" because he lost a life.
@Dillo6411 жыл бұрын
Fire Fox is likely just based on the boost. Fox uses it to give himself that extra lift to help reach the edge of a stage much like he uses it in the games to avoid enemies and collisions. In other words, he uses the boost to get through. Fox Illusion meanwhile is likely based on the Warp Zones in Star Fox 64, where your ship left blue after images as it traveled through space/time to warp you somewhere else. Much like Fox's side B.

Yo. Great job on the video, but I noticed a tiny mistake! Star Fox does actually use his blaster in 64, just not in the main campaign. In battle mode, the final unlock for getting lots of medals is the ability to play as any of the characters on foot, with blaster in hand. Since it's difficult to unlock, it's understandable that you missed it! Keep up the good work!

Could it be possible that when the Landmaster drops down, it's to assume it's coming from the Great Fox, so in a way it has the ending of the 64 version being used as the intro, and the intro of the Assault version as the exit (though I do remember when the Landmaster is destoryed in Assault it teleports out like how it teleports in)?
@TailsMiles24914 жыл бұрын

Did you ever play with Star Fox 64's title screen? In the original N64 version of Star Fox 64, tilt the control stick in any direction. The "64" part of the title will move around and Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy will all look at it. It's just a hilarious easter egg!
@aquil3714 жыл бұрын
@Ultimatesmasher Yeah, it was though. I'll never understand why some reviewers hated it so much.

IMO, it's a reference to boosting in a vehicle. Fox moves a short distance in a given direction very quickly, covered in flames (when boosting a vehicle has stronger afterburn than usual and can't boost for long). Furthemrore, after Fox does Fire Fox, he falls from wherever he is and can't do anything else until he hits the ground and recovers. In the Starfox games, after boosting, a vehicle has smaller afterburn than usual, and can't boost again until the boost gauge recovers.

not sure if some one said it already, but fox can use his blaster on foot in the multiplayer of starfox 64, so the info at 03:17 is off a bit. you just had to beat starfox 64 100% on expert to unock foot mode for multiplayer, everyone got the single blaster and fox being first player had his blaster as red. the beam and gun are taken from that.

You forgot this: Fox is able to land the Landmaster on top of opponents for damage in Brawl, which is related to how it could damage Fox if it landed on him in Assault

also the reason why starfox characters are fast and moves are kick centered, is because they removed there legs and replaced them with robotic ones so they didnt black out when performing high G manouvers, sadly they did this before the G-dampner was "invented" in the starfox universe

@CrappyCaptureDevice you forgot something about star fox assault. If you are in the landmaster and you get a green power upgrade or a red power upgrade (the things that makes the twin laser and hyper laser in the arwings), the non-charged shots transforms in a blue shot, the super cannon (that's the name of that type of shot) it's stronger and it's faster than the normal one sorry for the long request and thank you for your attention! ;)

notice how they got lazy with fox's starting animation. In smash 64, you clearly see the ship open up and eject fox. In brawl, the ship just passes and fox just randomly stands up when the ship leaves the platform.
@SonicWolf100011 жыл бұрын
In a way they are. It's really just copying the moves & stuff from the games by recreating them so they work for Brawl. What I mean by that is that if you just copy the stuff from the game & stick it in the game will be like "wtf?" & freeze or something so they must remake it into Brawl's file set for the stuff to work. Try putting a N64 or even GCN file in Brawl & making it work. It takes a long time for even just the model of the character. Much less the animations & info about the animations.

The Fox Illusion is actually based on Japanese mythology. In Japanese myths, kitsunes (foxes) were known to be mischievous, always tricking people w/ illusions. They were also known to be extremely fast. Fox's side B move is quite similar to those myths.
