COMMENT UPDATE! This video is over 2 years old, and at this point, most of the lower priced dropper posts work very well. The OneUp Dropper V2 has been extremely reliable, and other options from brands like PNW Components are very reliable as well. The Fox Transfer Post still _feels_ the most high end, but the others work very, very well.

Comments FAQ: Is the OneUp dropper post better than the Transfer Post?: The OneUp Dropper V1 has consistent issues, and we warrantied about 50% of the ones we sold. We actually stopped selling them due to so many issues. The V2 model seems to have fixed those options, but still OneUp recommends everyone to take them apart to add air pressure before installing it. Yes, its cheaper, but also feels cheaper and requires a little elbow grease every once in a while. The PNW Rainier also seems to require frequent collar greasing and air pressure maintenance to keep it running smooth. Is the Bike Yoke Revive better than the Transfer post?: The Bike Yoke Revive is an awesome seatpost and we highly recommend it. However, we've found they need more frequent maintenance to keep them running smooth. The two best droppers are the Transfer Post and Revive, however the Transfer Post took the cake since we barely ever see them require any maintenance.

@The Lost Co. So I've actually been having some issues with my transfer post. It's the performance elite version. What happens is that it sometimes stop about an inch from the top. This could happen even when it was "new" (it came with a complete bike). I first thought it was due to cable tension but after trying to optimize that I've kept noticung the same thing now and then. It seems very weak at the top so if I touch it ever so slightly during the last 1/5 of its way up it stops. Most importantly it won't continue up from there if I press the lever again. I switched to a Wolf Tooth Remote (LA) but I've kept having the same problem (love the lever though). I've tried using WPL fork lube on the stanchion but without effect.

I have the RockShoks Reverb for 4 years now without a single issue. it was never serviced and works great. Before that, I had the KS Eten which also worked perfectly. I found that pro #3 is quite ridiculous... I think that the lockout noise is a result of how hard your rebound adjustment is so if the rebound is set to be fast, the noise will be louder, and also you can feel the lockout.

There are a few points worth mentioning about these posts: 1) the operating pressure changed between 2017 and 2018+ models from 400psi to 300psi, respectively. As you may know, lower operating pressure generally yields smoother action (given like-for-like speed). This factoid was expressed to me by some technician that took in my 2017 model for service... 2) These systems are Nitrogen-charged because such gas maintains the same pressure between a temperature range (forgot the exact low & high ends). You can already deduce the benefit of the temperature tolerance. What sucks is the expertise needed, or necessity for proper equipment to nitrogen-charge them when servicing.

BEST? That's highly subjective. I have a Transfer, I also own a KS Lev, both posts have been awesome for me, with the advantage going to the KS Lev because I can service it at home, something you can't say for the Transfer, at least not without special tools and lots of hassle. I find a post that's reliable and can be maintained at home without having to send it out for weeks to be serviced much more deserving of the title "best", even then still subjective.
@TheLostCo5 жыл бұрын
Not being able to service the Transfer at home isn't a big deal because it needs no consistent maintenance to keep it working. The KS LEV allows you to do a sleeve service and cartridge replacement at home, which is nice because it requires maintenance to keep it working. We all decided that we would rather have a post with no issues that can go 2-3 years without a service instead of being able to service the post ourselves and take it apart every couple months to keep it working.

Why did you change
@destreal3 жыл бұрын
@@fazza2104 not as snappy as fox transfer and the audio cue of it coming up is not loud enough.

everything is cool, it works great, but there are no 34.9 of them, and lever needs to be bought separately, even the droper that goes for $ 350 is sold without a remote lever. wtf.

CON: Need to hit the perfect amount of torque when setting it in the frame (4-5nm depending on frame)... if just a bit too tight it will stick, if a bit too loose, the seat can wiggle slightly
@brycesimmons35195 жыл бұрын
Jakob Engell the seat is supposed to wiggle slightly, that is part of the internal mechanism, please follow the torque rating correctly 😂
@TheLostCo5 жыл бұрын
Please torque to proper spec. This applies to any frame and any dropper post!
