Her public defender. Bless his heart. He tried for his client. That prosecutor though. He has a calming shot. He's not a flamboyant Baptist preacher but he's like a visiting pastor who makes the church say Amen. He was awesome. He tripped Shanda up so many times all she could say was "If that's what it says."
@misswashington992 ай бұрын
Yes! The prosecutor took all the wind out of her sails when he recognized....& successfully objected to....Shanda's attempt to blame everything on undiagnosed mental disorders she claimed to have. She wanted to blame things like PTSD, disassociation disorder & other ailments, all based on hearsay that a doctor supposedly told her, not on expert testimony offered in court in front of the jury. The judge ruled without the proper foundation from an expert, Shanda could not assign blame for memory lapses on specific "disorders"...as she set out to do right out of the gate. As soon as the judge made that ruling, Shanda's defense fell apart. In a jail phone call, Shanda was talking about how case law regarding PTSD would blow the prosecutor's allegations of 'intent' out of the water. As we saw, after Shanda was limited to what mental issues she could cite in her testimony, she was reduced to having to continuously claim she couldn't remember anything which made her look stupid. 😊

@jens9458 Thank you. Defence attorneys are constantly misunderstood by people taking a simplistic approach. Speaking in defence of the client doesn't mean the attorney likes the client or anything the client has done, but the legal process has to be observed to protect all parties, and that's what he is doing. People don't think clearly - if a defence attorney is seen not trying to defend the client, a mistrial can be declared, and justice is not served at all. All attorneys want to be on the winning side, that's where they make their reputations and their fees. I admire much more an attorney like this who will work for the losing side (there was never any doubt of that), take the flak, and still do his best.

And i dont care what she went thru when she was a child its NO EXCUSE! I know people that have gone thru much worse and are the best of parents because they would never ever treat their children like they were treated. Im so sick of that excuse. Im so sick of children dying by the hand of their own parents and they say oh "i was abused!" What? who cares? thats all the more reason to treat your own children differently. Im so sick of Shondas fake tears and fake vomiting. Shes a monster. A liar. A manipulator. A child abuser and a murderer! I hope she gets what she deserves in jail. I hope she is put in general population and not kept away from all of the other mothers who are missing the children they love so much.

There's a video of the prosecutor during closing arguments and the angle is such that when he reminds the jury of the photo Paul took weeks before Timothy's death, you can actually see the picture and dear god... The judge was absolutely right. He did in fact look like a Holocaust victim. I almost wish I had looked away for that second because it's just burned into my brain now.

I pray they keep little G well away from her. There is a lot more to this if you read all the statements from family, teachers, work colleagues. She makes my blood boil. There needs to be a new legal bill where is you lose custody of a child it goes on your criminal record. TIMS LAW. How did they vet her for the Bar? She does have a criminal past. PLEASE do not allow the guilty one to be occupied with court papers, chit chats, whatever takes away her listening to the sentence she is going to receive as this helps her to 'switch off' from what is going on around her. She should be made to stand up and listen and take it on board in order she must face the cameras too - cannot believe how she manoevres around to avoid every bit of contact including face to face, this is so wrong!

He absolutely deserves to be charged with first degree child abuse or at the very least first degree child endangerment. The courts gave him custody and her supervised visits. By letting her have Timothy just to make his life easier, he gave her that child, against court order he should absolutely be charged. HE had custody of Timothy. HE was responsible for Timothy’s care and well being. She got the right sentence but he should be charged to. Well, I hope that he got what he wanted, I hope his life is easier. He pawned off his child to someone Who is not supposed to have him without supervision, and he got the expected outcome that you would expect when you put your child with someone who’s not supposed to be in contact with them without supervision. He can’t act surprised this is why the courts have visitation with supervision. He should be charged with negligent homicide. He should have known that putting his child with somebody who isn’t supposed to be around them without supervision would result in some sort of tragedy. He is ultimately responsible for this Childs death. And hopefully he’ll have to live with that for the rest of his life. Although I can’t imagine either parent really cared about this child. It’s sickening.

@@duckducknight Not slow enough to get away with murder. He demonstrated he knew right from wrong and he was rather articulate. She should've never had any children after listening to her grown kids' speak. In fact, this is when a burning at the stake would be a proper punishment. Her facial expressions and her trying to talk to her attorney those statements shows how she's no mother and she has no conscience. No tears no expression of remorse at all when each person spoke. I've never seen a more evil human as her. She could've made a good life unlike what she had as a child but instead decides to be more evil while including her child as an abuser like he was her apprentice. Who cares about the education she supposedly worked so hard to get. All of that was a waste of time. She should've went to school to learn how to be a mother. This psycho cares only for one person and that's herself and should NEVER had children. It wasn't his fault she was abused as a child. She had one job that mattered most of all and failed miserably. All of the education she received means absolutely nothing when it's obvious she put herself over all of her children every time. I wonder if his caregiver who threw him away to her had any charges since she wasn't supposed to have him? No death penalty in that state?
