@DennisTea
@DennisTea 2 жыл бұрын
@@Vladpryde There are 4 "degrees" to every rank, except black belt with 6. Each one is a stripe on your belt in a different color than your belt. The number of stripes is based on your skills in different areas. 6th degree black belt is the highest skill belt. There are 4 color ranks before black belt, and each have 4 degrees. There is also a red/coral belt after black belt, but that only requires that you've been an active black belt for around 30-40 years (depends on the school). It's more of a rank of experience or renown than skill. You will usually only see 60 year old men with the red belt. If you break it down entirely into degrees (without counting red belt), there are 22 levels in brazilian jiujitsu, and this man has 19.

It wasn't a sales pitch, just logical advice of don't wait until something bad happens. It is better to be proactive and have the skills needed to prevent something bad happening, or to help a bad situation not get worse. Simple logic. Only problem is that self defense classes and cost quite a bit. My sisters took Taekwondo for a while, then one got married and now they don't get the family Plan. The owner of the place did the best he can to make it cheap, but he does have to pay the rent etc on the building. While they where taking lessons, one of the girls and a "friend" that was a boy, and I am not sure about the whole story, but if she hadn't been taking lessons he would have assaulted her. He had her on the ground and they only way she got free was a move that they had recently learned. Probably saved her life too! So definitely not a sales pitch, just him trying to care for people.

I'm a carer for violent kids coming out of juvie. We are trained in de-escalation and rarely have to restrain a kid. The power of knowing how to talk. However, one restraint is called the small child restraint. It's pretty much holding them in such a way to not cause pain... like a big hug where they can't bite your arms or headbutt you. I never tell the kids the name as I don't want to shame them for not having emotional control. However, in a pub a small bloke was hitting a woman and then took a swing at my mate when he intervened. I restrained him and said, "This is called the small child restraint. It's generally only used on kids 12 and under." He went wild. Of course then his girlfriend kicked me in the head. Domestic violence relationships are weird.

The interesting thing is that when you really look at it, this was NOT a violent action by the Jiu Jitsu practitioner. He took the guy down, then he simply held him securely in place until the police turned up. He could quite easily have beaten the living shit out of the crim, but he simply resolved the situation with a minimum of fuss, he was calm and focused, THIS is what martial arts is all about, attempt to diffuse, attempt to reason but when required take APPROPRIATE action. Nothing but respect for how this was handled.

What these criminals do not seem to understand is, they are the BOTTOM of the food chain. Just noone wants to get dirty and wrestle with them. THEY are the weak. THEY are the victims. The predators are all of us. The hundreds of millions of non-criminals who are walking all around them... These hyenas run around thieving, nipping at people, harassing people. We are just often too bored or tired to do anything about it given our justice system, and the likelihood WE will be charged for getting involved... It is WE who decide when and if we want to get dirty tangling with these kinds of people. We decide when to take them down and process them into prison. They are all just one takedown away from prison, and the more they act out, the more LIKELY it becomes that they will be taken down by someone whose had enough of their shit. The odds of their being caught and imprisoned are exponentially related to the severity of their crimes. If this guy had just continued harassing people in the parking lot or stole some minor item again he would have escaped - again. But he chose to escalate it and hit someone. They all have some line that they cross, where they commit their last crime for a long time (because - then they are going to prison).

This is already 2 years old. Imagine if this thug was able to conceive this incident as a blessing for change, therefore, joining this guy's martial art classes. What, I said, imagine.

As a woman who has been assaulted many times in my life since a child, I now make it a point to talk to young girls about the importance of being able to protect themselves. To be able to walk down the street alone and know that whatever may happen, you can protect yourself. Empowerment is the key. I really do wish that the police depts would offer self-defense classes to their communities. What a great thing that would be..And can you imagine the changes that would happen if they did?

stop being against guns and get guns like holy fuck thats the point. Bitches complain that guns are bad and then walk around defenseless until something happens. Then they say “GuN CoNtrOl. ProTeCt WoMen.” just get your guns you guys wanted equality

i promise you if more women started carrying guns nothing would happen to you guys. no men would want to risk death for sum bs. but you guys might jus shoot each other like dumbasses but still. every man knows we are stronger than a women and we can easily rob one right now but that would change if we knew girls werent scared of owning guns

I actually really like that idea. It's something my buddies have discussed in the past. That like, grade 9-12 should have optional defense classes or something. Have an officer or a local instructor come in and teach kids to protect themselves. Builds confidence, self reliance, and would drastically reduce bullying.

Not only did he flatten and pretzle the man, he somehow also live streamed it! This man needs an award. He shows us what we need to do. To be good samaritans.

@@PeterPerhac You sound sympathetic to the perp. Very odd position to take. The man didn't use a gun and he didn't kill him. I think it taught that guy a lesson about picking on innocent people.

There were store cameras. Thats when the altercation began. Once he had control, he began recording and it could be used for evidence in case the perp tries to sue.

This is really awesome that this guy was able to do this and help out. The thing that bothers me is it took the cops 18 minutes to get there. That’s ridiculous.
