@@Vladpryde yes it is. To become a black belt in general takes years (like 10-12). He's third degree meaning he's gotten his black belt, then gotten another level to his black belt, and another. @DennisTea2 жыл бұрын
@@Vladpryde There are 4 "degrees" to every rank, except black belt with 6. Each one is a stripe on your belt in a different color than your belt. The number of stripes is based on your skills in different areas. 6th degree black belt is the highest skill belt. There are 4 color ranks before black belt, and each have 4 degrees. There is also a red/coral belt after black belt, but that only requires that you've been an active black belt for around 30-40 years (depends on the school). It's more of a rank of experience or renown than skill. You will usually only see 60 year old men with the red belt. It wasn't a sales pitch, just logical advice of don't wait until something bad happens. It is better to be proactive and have the skills needed to prevent something bad happening, or to help a bad situation not get worse. Simple logic. Only problem is that self defense classes and cost quite a bit. My sisters took Taekwondo for a while, then one got married and now they don't get the family Plan. The owner of the place did the best he can to make it cheap, but he does have to pay the rent etc on the building. While they where taking lessons, one of the girls and a "friend" that was a boy, and I am not sure about the whole story, but if she hadn't been taking lessons he would have assaulted her. He had her on the ground and they only way she got free was a move that they had recently learned. Probably saved her life too! So definitely not a sales pitch, just him trying to care for people.

However, one restraint is called the small child restraint. It's pretty much holding them in such a way to not cause pain... like a big hug where they can't bite your arms or headbutt you. I never tell the kids the name as I don't want to shame them for not having emotional control. However, in a pub a small bloke was hitting a woman and then took a swing at my mate when he intervened. I restrained him and said, "This is called the small child restraint. It's generally only used on kids 12 and under." He went wild. Of course then his girlfriend kicked me in the head. However, many cities give -18 a free pass and their chances of changing goes down. The way our society is run right now, criminals have long rap sheets and always are let free to commit crimes again. What these criminals do not seem to understand is, they are the BOTTOM of the food chain. Just noone wants to get dirty and wrestle with them. THEY are the weak. THEY are the victims. The predators are all of us. The hundreds of millions of non-criminals who are walking all around them... These hyenas run around thieving, nipping at people, harassing people. We are just often too bored or tired to do anything about it given our justice system, and the likelihood WE will be charged for getting involved... It is WE who decide when and if we want to get dirty tangling with these kinds of people. We decide when to take them down and process them into prison. They are all just one takedown away from prison, and the more they act out, the more LIKELY it becomes that they will be taken down by someone whose had enough of their shit. The odds of their being caught and imprisoned are exponentially related to the severity of their crimes. If this guy had just continued harassing people in the parking lot or stole some minor item again he would have escaped - again. But he chose to escalate it and hit someone. They all have some line that they cross, where they commit their last crime for a long time (because - then they are going to prison).
