Dolton and, to a greater extent, Thornton Township, is very poor. You drive down Dolton, Riverdale, Harvey, Dixmoor, Calumet City and other cities, you will discover blocks upon blocks of vacant homes, dilapidated homes, and homes where they need to be torn down. How can you be content with that? How can you, as a resident, be content with a Supervisor spending money on lavish things, misappropriating the funds, and using tax payers funds to go on lavish vacations, places where these residents will never go to in a lifetime? How can you be content with this leadership? This is why i can not feel sorry for the residents. They voted her in as Mayor, and so they get what they deserve

@@thirtynine3955 she has the same authority as your or i. in other words, absolutely zilch considering she's not counsel for them. that's an important thing, as it's my understanding that only your lawyer representing you can get depositions or subpoenas after you file a lawsuit (if you represent yourself you can get those, too, but the system is rigged to where the layperson is bound to screw the process up somehow). i don't know why ppl think her being an ex-federal prosecutor gives her magic powers. if she was actually representing them in a lawsuit, then, yeah, she could request a subpoena from the court (apparently generally given by the clerk of courts) or arrange for an out of court deposition. they already use odelson (i think that's his name), and he actually is their attorney who i assume represents them as a filing attorney. here, she's just some idiot poking around with no authority at all. i'm not sure what you mean by 'registered investigator' and 'federal investigator.' she was a federal prosecutor, the kind of steppingstone you use if you plan on entering politics or becoming a judge, so i'm not sure why some people think she was out there dusting for prints or navigating the dark underground of the criminal world in disguise in search of a key witness held captive in a secret location. that's what people who don't sit in air-conditioned offices all day do. some of this is a little fuzzy to me and i'm not finding easy answers to simple questions while researching it. my takeaways are this, and don't quote me on anything: * you have to be legal counsel representing the party and file a lawsuit to have any investigative authority and even then that has to be requested through the court, though a subpoena can be granted by the clerk of court as representative of a judge. * a subpoena requires you to show up for a deposition. * some depositions may just be arranged by the attorneys without the red tape involved, but they still have rules to follow. even in this case the witness is bound to tell the truth as it's still recorded as evidence. so, no, beetlejuice has no investigative authority, less even than odelson. her 'power' is in her celebrity. otherwise, she has no particular skills to advance the cause. and, once she gives her 'recommendations' (her word), imo that constitutes legal counsel and opens herself up to a lawsuit. i hate to say it, but del galdo is technically right here when he sent out his warnings, which is when they called her a 'special investigator.' i reckon she can be called that, but once she gives advice, then it's counsel. if they were smart -- and they're not -- it makes better sense in my small brain for her to give anything over to odelson and have him make the recommendations, not her. if she happens to stumble on some evidence that odelson hasn't and the feds somehow missed, there's nothing she can do with it other than tell the feds. i don't see any reason why any legally obtained evidence by anyone, lawyer or not, can't be used. again in my best guesswork, i imagine that could mean she possibly could be deposed with the idea that since she's not their legal counsel she has no attorney-client privilege. to re-iterate, don't take my word on any of this, but i hope it helped and by all means research it, too. quote me at your own risk, lol.
